Pulled the trigger...

...details here on my extended test drive that pushed me over the edge...

http://www.camaro5.com:80/forums/sho...highlight=avis

In the que and have a few weeks to finalize.

Right now I'm thinking the following:

Victory Red
Black Interior
2LT
RS
Manual
Sunroof
Spare Tire

Still considering a 1SS or 2SS tho...

Dealer says my order should go in within a month and to expect delivery in November. Seems a bit out there to me.

How does this compare with other lead times people are seeing?

I got a GM Supplier deal (~$1,000 off MSRP), and put down $1,000 deposit 6/8/09 (refundable until "pulled for production" status).

If I am not mistaken, you should be 1100 right off the bat as long as your dealer entered the order. do you have the workbench with the digit order number? If so, you should be 1100. If not, you better get them to enter it in the system! I am also waiting on an allocation (hopefully next week) and I was at 1100 day one...

Yeah, I think the 1100 was a wrong refernce on my part...basically he said I could make changes (or even get my deposit back) until it was accepted for production. That date was like 2 months out.

Just like everyone else will tell you on here, it depends on the dealer's allocation. My dealer originally only got 4 allocations but GM gave them more. I was told I'm #8 in line and am already accepted for production. As you can see in my sig, the time between me ordering and when it went 3000 was only 16 days (counting weekends).
Depending on if your dealer gets extra allocations, you may see it much sooner but don't let me get your hopes up.
If it's any indication of the ramping up of production, the guy that put my order in (the owner/president of my particular dealer...it's a small town dealership and he actually gets his hands "dirty" from time to time) told me today that he expects my car to be built in 3 to 4 more weeks if not on the lot by then. He was using orders that have already come in as a guide line.

Anyway, just thought I'd share since you asked so nicely for ordering time lines. Congrats on the order. I'm sure the v6 (if you finally decide on that) will be a most awesome daily driver (which I believe is what you hinted at on the 'vette forum).

P.S. It took me 5 minutes to mop up the drool off my desk after gawking at your Z06. Absolutely titillating!!!

P.P.S Refering to your review on the other forum, what did the guy do/say when you tossed him the keys to the rental? Did he actually drive it or think you were joking?

Delivery depends on allocations. If it's going to be 2 months til your order will get pulled by GM then I would think probably some time in October for you to take delivery. I base this soley on the fact that it took me about 2 months from when GM pulled my order to get my car. Production should be faster by then so maybe it will be quicker for you.

When I threw the kid the keys at the Sheridan's custard place, he knew it was just for unlocking the doors.

Also, from just looking at him and his buddies, I could tell that they were good kids (a little hayseed with a Nebraska Cornhusker ballcap).

Thanks for the info on lead times.

The dealer said he gets 4 allocations a week (20+/- a month). He is a Hendrick affiliated dealership.

Do you by chance know what place you are in line with them?

Hmm, I'm not sure what that Priority number is. If I remember correctly (I'm at work and don't have my Workbench), mine says #1 for the Priority but that can't mean what we think it means seeing as how they've had at least 2 other cars come in before mine. Also, they had people that ordered last year; I've only just ordered last month.

Sounds like you'll have to get that info from your dealer if they'll even give it to you. Unfortunately, trying to get your allocation place in line from some dealers is like trying to herd cats! Of course if you're not in all that big of a hurry, just wait it out for a month or so and then have one of the guys on here check your order status.

At least you have a gorgeous Z06 to keep you occupied while you wait.

Dealer advised me today that I am #19 in line for an allocation and #37 overall for them.

They get 5-7 allocations per month (not per week - my bad in the previous post) currently, but hope that jumps by +1/3 (to 7-9) with the phase out of 1/3 of the GM dealerships (sounds like the downsizing is already in play - phase out dealers must just get the inventory they have on hand?)....

So if this holds, November is not unrealistic.

Assuming 6 allocations per month (conservative), @ #19 that's a little over 3 months out for allocation (say around 9/15). After allocation, how long to build and deliver = ?.

Nice.

I was also thinking you qualify for a T-shirt. "I rented an Avis Camaro and didn't get
in a crash".

Since everyone else seems to either crash or get crashed into that rents Avis.

I'm a bit confused as to what you're saying. You correct yourself at the beginning saying that they really only get 5-7 allocations per month, but then later in the post you use the 6 allocations per week example. If the latter is true, then you may be looking at an early July pull to 3000 status (with a possible late Sept. to early Oct. delivery barring any QC holds). If the former is true, 5-7 allocations per month, then you're probably looking at an early Oct. pull to 3000 status (with a late Nov. to early Dec. delivery barring any QC holds).

Can you be more clear about the allocations? Is it 5-7 per month or week?

Oh, yeah. To answer your last question...
For those of us who have ordered recently April-May-June, it looks like it's been taking between 3-5 weeks to go from 3000 (you're at 3000 when they give you allocation) to 3400 (start of assembly line). Some have been quicker. It takes about a week to be built and to go to 3800 (built). From there, it depends on QC and where you're at in relation to distance from the plant. Probably look at 2 weeks for delivery to be safe.

You are right. 5-7 per month puts my order being pulled out there further. Corrected post above accordingly.

Still November timeframe delivery to me, which is basically what I was going from as to "when it is put into my greasy palms"...
