is the CTSV brake conversion the cheapest way to get 2 piece rotors?

Is there a more cost effective way to get 2 piece rotors?thanks

If you are just looking for 2-piece rotors I believe there are some aftermarket companies that make 2-piece rotors for the stock size SS brakes. I don't know of any particular ones off hand because I've never looked but I'm sure if you PM one of the sponsors here like Apex Motorsports I'm sure Chase can provide some guidance on this.

You can get DBA two piece rotors and racing brake but RB are much more. Might be worth the CTS-V upgrade for better all around performance. I had RB rotors on my SS but plan to do the CTS-V upgrade this tim

You can buy low mile 6 piston zl1 brake take offs with 2 piece rotors for $1350 +/- on ebay, so don't waste money on upgrading the 4 pistons....been there, done that, not worth the effort.

For a full set of RB rotors you are looking at just under $2k.

Not rain on the parade, but Amazon has the OEM ZL1s (left and right) $256 each...

Left:

Right:

http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-177-11...art/B009MV64VM

Lists all models they work on...

I'm picking up a set since they are killer expensive and I want to have them for 'future' since you cannot turn these...

That listing is not accurate. You can't slap ZL1 rotors on an SS and call it a day. The diameter is larger. You have to upgrade to the entire ZL1 braking system to use them.

Right. If you go with the 6 piston calipers which is what I assumed. I did that upgrade on my 2ss so I have the full upgraded system ZL1 setup.

I was also assuming the CSTV 6 Piston Calipers were being used:

Left:

Right:

http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-172-25...TDYFXB37MMXZGB

Along with ZL1 brake lines too (since the SS won't fit) -- Goodridge are the way to go!

Not sure if these are the ZL1 or not:

http://www.apex-speed.com/goodridge-...kit-12219.html

Also, I believe several have used instead of the ZL1 caliper -- I do know other folks have used these on their Camaros:

OP was discussing the CTSV upgrade so that is why I presented the links...

Thanks!

Np there is a silver version ctsv caliper. 6 piston is what you want if you do the conversion. Otherwise, Apex does have the two piece for the SS brakes...
