Question Low In-Cabin Noise Exhaust System for ZL1's

Just bought a second hand ZL1. The previous owner installed a MagnaFlow Cat-back exhaust system. It is so damn loud in the car, that I can hardly hear people talk to me. I also have to jack up the volume to listen to music when driving around.

Does anyone have any suggestions on exhaust systems? I was told that Borla S-Type, Billy Boat Exhaust, and Corsa X-Pipe makes great sounding exhaust systems that keep the sound behind you and eliminates the droning noises. How true are those statements?

The stock NPP exhaust with fuse pull might be loud enough for you maybe? I wanted an aftermarket exhaust but someone had mentioned to remove the trunk carpet and fold the seats down for a louder sound, boy he was right! With the fuse pull it was pleasantly loud, and when I don't want to hear it as much I put the carpet back in the trunk .

Most likely it's been disabled due to you already having an aftermarket exhaust.

I forgot to mention. I own a convertible ZL1... Things are much quieter for you hardtop owners.

Corsa is real quiet inside, as it cancels almost all of the bass out of the note.
I have an extreme 3" Corsa, which is louder than the sport 3" ZL1 corsa.
It is way louder than stock standing outside the vehicle and much quieter inside.

Yea you have an aftermarket catback. The fuse pull is to keep the flaps open in the stock exhaust to keep it loud.

So... if I purchase the 3" Sport Corsa (http://www.corsaperformance.com/view...=14971&cfg=972)

How much louder will it be compared to factory? If it is the same (or quieter), that is where I want to be. But if it is louder, I might just bite the bullet and buy another factory exhaust system... I'm really trying to weigh my options here and get my money worth.

I just found out the previous owner put the Magnaflow Axle-back race series exhaust system on it. I kept banging my head trying to find this exhaust for the ZL1 and all along it was a Super Sport exhaust... smh.

Have you thought about seeing if anyone is willing to trade their stock catback exhaust for your louder Magnaflow? You might even make a little money off the deal.
