Question shifting problem 1st to 2nd

Has anyone experienced when doing a slow shift from first to second that the shifter jumps out your grip and into neutral, then you have to fight a bit to get it into second?I know it is not me,I have driven stick most of my life, just looking for feed back before I contact the "DREADED DEALER".And by the way why I have your attention, how about the traction control sigh on the dash, when it is "DISENGAGED" the symbol comes on,but the manual says if it stays on for a long period of time that there may be a problem and to have the car serviced at the "DREADED DEALER".

You are probably experiencing what is called skip shift, basically this was introduce on certain GM model to avoid the gaz guzzling tax. This skip shift features basically forces the driver to go from 1st to 4th gear but it only occurs when

• The engine coolant temperature is higher than 76°C (169°F),
• The vehicle is going 24 to 31 km/h (15 to 19 mph) and
• The vehicle is at 21 percent throttle or less.

You can get rid of this feature by installing a skip shift eliminator. There\s plenty of threads on this in the forums.

Cheers!

CAGS as already noted

Traction control light comes on when disengaged or when problem with system. Off when engaged. If it stays on after you restart the car there must be a problem. Have dealer check.

Don't like your dealer? Go to a different one. Just b/c you bought it there doesn't mean you have to service it there. Where are you? West TO by chance? May I suggest Humberview?

Cheers
