Where are all of the L99 VVT Cams

There hasn't been any talk about L99 cam options in a long time. I know Mast, Comp, ADM, and others were working on L99 cams (wiht phasers) but I have not seen any results or dynos, etc. Anybody run with any of these cams yet? I want to see real results.

There are but you would have to talk with people like ADM performance ( andy ) or other shops on here about them.
There is a Cam phaser needed to dot his swap and they would know all about it.

We have done numerous Cams on the L99 with cam phasers. Give us a shout to discuss options. All the best, Fastlane

I'm not looking to but a cam anytime soon but I definatley will, likely next year. But I really want to open up the discussion on the different VVT cams out there. I'd like to see some dynos to see how the VVT increases bottom end, flattens the curves, and how much HP/TQ is being made. Right now it is hard to find any info unless it is intake or exhaust related.

Best thing to do is rip all that mess out and change it over to a LS3....

That is what I had done......

Why, the gains I have seen with other VVT engines is pretty incredible compared to a non-VVT V8. The only downside are the AFM lifters. I have only seen Comp Cams data but it wsn't specific to the L99. In fact if I had an LS3 I'd be trying to convert to VVT.

I just saw a write up on a Mast VVT cam install on a 2010 Camaro.
It was in Super Chevy online.
Good article.

That is contrary to the bit I have seen. Comp cams made 69hp with a cam and tune on a VVT V8 (L92?). Plus the low end power was better than a non-VVT setup. Look at similar LS3 setups with cam, LT, intake, and headers make the same power. ithat was a smaller engine so I'm curious how much more power is inthere on the L99.

just going by what I was told by someone who tried various vvt cams in the L99, the only way to make real power is to rip all the vvt stuff out

Did they try using the stock cam phaser? That may have been the problem.

VVT is the reason the the L99 is 0.1s faster than the LS3 in the 0-60. Gives it a little more low-end torque.
