Muffler Delete
What are the directions to perform the muffler delete and add a x-pipe? Getting mine done tomorrow, but want to make sure the shop is doing i correctly. Thanks.

The big day has come!!! The best way to install the X-Pipe is to cut the resonator/H-Pipe out and put the X-Pipe in as far forward as possible. You will then have to add a small section of pipe to the back of the X-Pipe to reconnect to your existing system. It is important to try and get the X to start where the H-Pipe was cut off. The muffler delete is pretty basic as well. They will basically cut your factory mufflers out and add a straight section of tubing in place of the old muffler location. They will cut your factory tips off and weld them to the pipe. Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions. Looking forward to hearing it!!! We appreciate your business and have a great day! ![]() Kind regards, |

What did you get done? Just the muffler delete or did you add the x-pipe as well? Who did you end up getting to do the job.

Got it done today. I have a Manual, 2SS with GFX. Jordan was nice enough to take my call and speak with the shop just before they worked on my car. (Thanks)
So, the H-pipe was replaced with the magnaflow X-pipe. The resonators were left in tact. The mufflers were removed and a piece of pipe was added. My factory tips were welded to the new pipe. I may go back later and switch to some rectangular shaped tips. Has a nice sound. Might try to find a way to turn it down a notch, but its definitely closer to the sound that I want than the factory sound was. The x-pipe helps make the popping more of a deep sounding pop. Definitely worth the $150. I kept my mufflers just in case I decide to go back.

Hey TSquared.....
Is yours an L99 or LS3? If it's an LS3 did you leave the resonators on? I'm kinda thinking they should be removed. If I'm trying to basically make a Magnaflow Comp Series cat-back then I think they should go. Dr1ven....do you know which X-pipe they used? Was it the Tru-x or the resenated type like the #14386? Have any pics to share?

100943 When I ordered mine, Jordan stated "you can use coupon code FreeShipping to receive free shipping on the X-Pipe. ". Contact him to see if the offer still stands. No pics yet.

I have the 14386 to replace my L99 resenator. Not installed yet, I want to test my Vararam first and I have something neat planned for replacing the mufflers. If you want the Magnaflow comp catback just add the 14386 snd do the muffler delete. I think the muffler delete is too much without the mufflered x-pipe in there.
