SS gas mileage

Hey everyone

1st, I'd like to say OMG I love this car and everytime I see it I just say "Sh@t!" to my self then chuckle.

But when I drive I feel a lot different. I find my self looking at my Fuel Range and how close my needle is to "E" rather than just enjoying the ride.
My 1st car was a chevy cavalier, my last car was a pontiac g6 gt. Both cars got decent gas milage and I only had to fill them up once maye twice a week. I only had this car for a month, it has 1,200 miles on it and hasnt had an oil change yet. I drive mostly on the freeway about 11 miles a day. I don't get crazy on the throttle (just once when that mustang pulled up). I fill this car up just about every 2-3 days and its making me feel more and more . I don't mean to sound bithcy, I'm just used to better fuel economy.

So my questions for you guys are:
Whats your SS gas milage looking like?
How do you increase your SS mpg?
I know the car has that 1 to 4 skip shift feature, but what about starting from 2nd gear from a stop instead of 1st? Or what about shifting from 1st gear to 3rd gear? Some guy at work says he does this in his car to keep his rpms low - not sure about this.

Thanks guys

ps I'll eventually get over this I just gotta get used to it.

um yeah ur not going to get that good of a gas mileage out of this car lol. im getting about 250 miles to a full tank. its not that bad if u compare it to a v6. my buddy has a G37 and his tank is the same size as the camaro and he gets about 275 miles per tank. but keeping ur rpm lower is always good, i alway shift under 3000 rpm but its hard not to step on the gas hard with this car.. as for increasing gas mileage you can do a CAI and exhaust those help a bit.

I drive fairly conservative and short shift when I'm commuting to work. M6 LS3 with bolt ons.

Mods are : CAI, Longtube Headers w/catted mid pipe, Exhaust, Tune

I Avg 16.7. 80 percent is highway trolling in 6th gear at 70-80 mph 20 percent is tooling around town in a low gear.

I actually spin such a low RPM at times its bothersome and feel like my heavy chevy is bogging down at 1600-2300 RPM. The M6 LS3 loves 4K-redline!!

I get 12 mpg in the city with the LS3, but with 426 hp I don't care.

mine is 21.7 2SS M6, but I am easy on it. I did use a tank after hard driving, rather fast driving and I got 15.9. Last trip mostly interstate I got 23.8.
