Noisy Heater Blower Motor/Fan

Just curious if anyone else has seen this on their car. (Yes I know the simple fix is to take it in to the dealer and have it fixed).

The blower fan on my car makes a chirping type noise. It is quiet when from a cold start, and you can't really hear it when the fan is set higher than 50 percent The sound is really prominent when you shut the fan off and it is winding down.

I do believe there is actually a TSB out on this issue. I myself have not experienced this, however.

I have read through the TSB's, thre is one about a noisy belt problem, and one about a gurgleing noise and moisture discharge from the AC but nothing like this. It is one of those noises you don't always notice, but once you do it is stuck in your heads like a bad 70s disco song.

It is definitely a defect... My 2010 camaro has the same problem. It sounds like a baby chirping bird at it's lowest speed. I have had several camaros in my day and a problematic blower motor starts off just that way and will progress to where it won't move until it is cranked up to a higher speed. My camaro is a lt2 and was manufactured around Oct. I am going to change the cabin filter to see if maybe a restricted airflow maybe causing the problem.. If that is not it ;back to the dealer we go. GM is till using the same old blower motors they used almost 15 years ago on new model cars. It's a da*** shame.

I have the same problem. I thought that something got sucked up into the fan. The lever for the front seat folding foward is broke now this, time for a dealer appointment.

Same issue here, and it comes and goes, but its very irritating, but when I get to the dealer, it stops doing it!!! I have VERY good hearing and that dang chirping cannot be drowned out by the radio, its just there and it gives me such a headache! Good to know its a similar issue...Has anyone checked on the repair? I did.. apparently, the fan is in a "sealed" unit and has to be literally cut out to be replaced and then "re-sealed", not sure how.. but NO ONE is cutting away on my wagon until that fan and whatever surrounds it gets replaced..so I am waiting for either a TSB or I wear out that dealer ... and get the whole box replaced...

Had this problem took it to the dealership and they replaced the blower motor and the sound is gone. First time I went they did nor hear it so they did nothing have to admit that day it was quiet but went back found a way to make it reproduce the sound and make it very prominet
Step 1: crank the heat up and speed to full
Step 2: start car
Step 3: wait like 10 to 15 minutes or how ever long it takes to get to dealership
Step 4: turn speed to low about first line maybe a little before or when sound is louder
Step 5: DO NOT TURN CAR OFF and let service guy in passenger seat blower motor on the right side behind vent
Step 6: if service guy don't hear still turn speed to off and then back to low sound will be noisey when motor slows to stop
Hope this helps took about a week for dealership to order new blower motor and to let you all know there is not a service bullitan or none my service guy could find

Mine's a bit noisy. I think if there's a TSB issue in existence, my car has it

I have a 2011 2SS/RS - had it from new. I've had the blower motor replaced twice now, and as of this morning, it has started chirping again.

The last two were under my factory warranty... I'll have to use my GM Extended warranty this time, which has a $100 deductible. Wonder if, with this being the third time for the same issue and part to be replaced, that it will be seen as a definite defect and they won't charge me.

Only one way to find out I guess...

Had the one in 2011 2LT/RS replaced, gotta be a known issue now.
