I had a 2008 Cobalt SS with the Direct Injected 2.0L Turbo, and it made the same "tik tik" noise at idle. It did it from the very moment I owned the car to the day I upgraded to my 2010 1SS. I did some research into the noise, and found that it had something to do with the Direct Injection system. If I do remember right, the tik noise came from an auxillary fuel pump, that is needed to supply the fuel injectors the high pressure required for direct injected motors.

I never had any problems with my Cobalt, and I believe this is the same thing.

So in short, No Worries!

normal...actually the dealer told me it was the injectors. Dealer fired up 2 Camaros in their lot and tik tik tik was there as well.

tik tik tik that doesn't go away when you raise the rpm is not normal.

It's a mechanical high pressure fuel pump... It's normal...
