Not shifting into 2nd?

Occasionally my manual transmission will not shift into 2nd and the display shows me to shift into 4th gear. Anybody have any ideas? Seems to run and shift fine most of the time, but will do this at times.

It's the skip shift. You can avoid it by driving a little harder in first before shfting. Kind of a pain in the foot. If it does activate just go to 4th then to 3rd before releasing the clutch.

Your RPMs aren't up enough, it's called skip-shift and it's been talked about on here a lot. There are some tunes you can do to get rid of it, I usually push into 3rd and drop to 2nd if I need...or give it some gas...

It is called Skip Shift. You can buy an SLP Skip Shift Eliminator for about $20.00

Another option is to tune it outa the computer. Any good tune can alter or eliminate it if want. I have EFI live and use that to tune with so the CAGS(skip shift) when bye bye. Think that was the first change I made. There were a few times I woulda bought EFI Live just to get rid of it lol

I can't believe you were not told about this when you bought your car. That should have been part of your delivery where the sales person shows you all the important features on the car...

It is normal under light load situations when accelerating.. Just drive it harder when pulling out...

Sounds like you have your answer--- and incase you are wondering why it is on your car..

It is a way to increase epa gas mileage ratings--- so that you don't have to pay a "Gas Guzzler Tax"

Apex Chase, thank you for the explanation. I thought I didn't know how to drive a MANual transmission for a while. When that message popped up a couple times, I thought my car was making fun of me. Just go faster?...OK!
