muffler delete is just a cheap way to make your car sound louder..... u have a 35k+ car and you are thinking about cutting your mufflers off... come on man... go with magnaflow or kooks anything but a muffler delete..... i mean this in a nice way

There is nothing wrong with doing a Muffler Delete systems. Doesn't matter if you've spent $25k or $35k. It's all about your budget. At the time I did mine the Magnaflow Comp systems were going for about $950. I did my muffler delete + resonated x-pipe + tips for around $350. The other $600 I used for my shifter and CAI.
If money is not an issue, I agree, go with a built cat-back from Magnaflow or SOLO or Cherry Bomb or whatever...but if you're on a budget like I am don't discount the muffler delete. If you're intrested in the muffler delete, go through my thread...learn from a couple mistakes I made. I've been happy with my setup. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64964

I don't really understand why people looking down at an option just because it's cheap. At a dyno session a few days ago, we heard cat backs from Borla, Corsa, Cherry Bombs, and ARH's full exhaust, muffler delete, stock exhaust.....We all felt the muffler delete was nice. Even the guy with the $1,200 Corsa cat-back thought the muffler delete sounded better, LOL. Money is not an issue for me, but I would rather do the muffler delete than one of these catbacks. The exception was the Borla's, I thought that was nicer. I am looking at LTs with hi-flo cats and resonated X-pipe connecting to stock cat-back with muffler delete.

I don't know what a delete sounds like but I insalled the 16580 comp cat back on mine and even my wife thinks it sounds good!!!!! Nice rumble when you start it and good sound when your driving. Step on the gas and it opens up sounds great!!!!! I was stuck too. The vid's don't do it justice at all!!!!!
I also found that my stock rezonator weld was cracked and leaking anyway. That was with 3000 miles on the car!!!!! I took pic's to the dealer so he knew and can fix it if it ever gets put back on for any reson. JMO |

I like my delete with magnaflow tru x pipe, with tips it was under 300 and it sounds amazing. I really don't think $1k+ is worth it (at least to me) for a catback system, to make it sound marginally "better".
