LT header install

Whats the trick to keeping the exhaust from rattling on the cross brace? I had my LTs installed yesterday and they couldn't adjust them enough to keep a clear gap between the pipes and the barce. I'm taking it back today to see what they can do, any suggestions, any tricks?

I stick a 1-1 1/2" tall piece of wood on top of the brace and under the exhaust pipes. Then tighten the system from the collectors, back. Pull the spacer out when done. Works for me. I've also seen the use of 1" long aluminum spacers at the brace to space it down abit for extra clearence.

Do they have the spacers under the brace? My ARH set up came with spacers that are about 1/2" thick.

Then when putting everything together, I got everything lined up, then put a thin piece of wood between the pipes and the cross brace. This pushed the pipes up to give a little clearance. Then tighten all the clamps down. Then remove the piece of wood, and there should be a little clearance left in there.

If it winds up real tight even with spacers and forcing the pipes up before tightening, I believe there is an aftermarket brace with a little more clearance.

A couple washers on each bolt is the cheap way out. There are a couple aftermarket tunnel braces that were made to combat this issue. They are cut down in the exhaust area about 1/2in. I'm thinking they run about $100 for a nice aluminum piece with a chevy bowtie cut in it. You could also do the washer trick with the BMR piece, which is a tad bit cheaper.

I also believe BMR makes a new brace for this...
