Ok so if it was month's in advance it still take's time to make something new certainly many many more month's. Espcially if Ford was working on a completely new engine unlike GM wich already have several version's of the engine's they use.

No. They had 3 years at most due to contractual obligations/issues with the St. Therese plant. Jan of 2006 was the first time they were able to put a Camaro out there. The concept was build in 30 days (so they say)...and put out there for "fun". The overwhelming response resulted in approval...but they weren't considering it until that concept came out (There's a rumor that it was frowned upon to even mention the name).
But they new what the Mustang had to offer for at least 5 year's from the time the Mustang was released in 05 until now to tweak the Camaro.

everyone knows the 4.6 is a turd. That might be his point. They kept a turd in there for so long due to lack of competition.

You've had the same engine for 10 years... I'm think yall had the "slight" advantage in that argument.

Correct...and is that not why we have a 90hp V6 and ~110hp V8 advantage? Not to mention fuel economy, refinement, style, and features-set? I guess I jumped in without reading to deeply...why did you make that point in the first place?

And that was my point.

Mainly because it seem's that many forget or dont realize this when bashing on the Mustang. I have nothing against the Camaro but I dislike it when people makie it seem like the it has been around all this time and Ford did nothing to compete with it when in all reality that is not the case.

How was there an advantage Ford looked at it like this there's nothing to compete with so why change what we have when there's no reason.

You said Ford was working on a completely new engine for the GT during those years, but you've had the 4.6L V8 for almost the past ten years.

GM is currently working on their new generation of engine...just because Ford is releasing info on their new products and GM isnt doesnt mean you should completely ostracize them...besides, every LS engine is its own entity done up with similar technology, at least we have variety unlike Ford's "would you like the 4.6? Or would you preffer the 4.6? And keep it hush hush but we also have a 5.3 for $18k more if you're willing" ...sheesh...

Who said they were working on it all this time? Why would they do that until they know what the competition is doing?

YOU DID. The point was that you think the Camaro was easy to modify engine wise because of the multiple variants of the LS, but the mustang has been using the 4.6 V8 for the last 10 years.

I believe you mean 5.4 nat that that's a big difference but that little 5.4 can handle somewhere around 800+ horse seem's pretty damn good to me. If something's not broke, dont fix it.
