All our Tech manuals have changed and we use nitrogen in all our military aircraft tires now as well for reasons of moisture and pressure fluctuations. Also, the bigger the tire, the lower the air pressure.

I don't have my car yet but I do have a question.

When the low Air Pressure light comes on does it tell you what tire needs air or the pressure in each tire?

Or is it just a light and then you need to find out what is going on?

Thanks

Your DIC will point you in the right direction.

The sidewall of your tire and the sticker says to measure "cold pressure".

The reason many of the racers use Nitrogen is that the expansion rate of the gas is more predictable with heat build up. Therefore they would know the pressure at certain temp levels. That's why NASCAR uses nitrogen.

For most of us ambient air is OK if you check your tires often; preferably before you drive it or once a week.

Now... another question that has me stumped... if your check your air pressure in your tires at home, before you go anywhere & adjust them to 36 psi all the way around in the summer .... then when it gets COLD outside, do you start all over & check them all again & adjust to 36 psi ??? Cuz it's gotten cold here in Texas... well (some days) ... anyway... when it's COLD outside, my pressure goes way down... then on warmer days it's up again. Geez.

I'm thinking if you add air to a cold tire in the winter & then it warms up for a few days (like it does here), then you'll have way too much air in them.

Why is this so hard? Man. I'm trying to do everything right, but it's hard.:(
