Neither.... those are the cats...
The resonators are further down stream... past the H-pipe... closer to the rear end... Surprisingly I don't have a picture of them in my vast library! LOL

I thought the resonators were different too, according to a production drawing I saw. Of course, things could have changed, lol. I'll have to dig it up, but I know it was posted here in this forum somewhere.

![]() I guess it has to do with to sound when the V8 auto is dropping & picking cyls. That's why the LS3 & L99 mufflers are also different. So bottom line: the V8 LS3 & V6 resonators are the same,from the exterior and the L99 is VERY different.
