3K REAR END FAILS

I live in an area that is known for car swallowing chuckholes. Its winter time and I'm swerving all over the road dodging these things like I'm it Viet Nam trying to keep my legs in a mine field.

So I'm driving on 465 and can't deny the vibration in the steering wheel.. Hmm 3500 miles...car is just getting broke in...damn. Must be a damaged wheel. Fast forward to my dealer...whats the problem I ask.

Next day he calls and says your rear end has a chipped tooth. Darn...call the toooth fairy right. No-you must wait ten days to see your little camaro-- and be patient. The part is coming from the production line...and production has been stopped . Why is that? I dont know. Where is it coming from? I dont know. When do you think I can expect to see my car again? I dont know. How long do I drive this Malibu. I dont know.

So I put about 900 miles on the Malibuke in about 18 days. I drove that front wheel drive hoss everywhere with no remorse. Sorry big rental empire.

No real exlpantion about the rear end...just a random thing...hmmm. All is well that ends well. My SS is fine and I have new rims- yeah.

Has anyone else head a major malfunction with a stock SS? I dont drive rough. Just fast.

9000 miles here, 2 oil changes, 1 rear end fluid chage and no problems.

You should have them throw some 4.10's back there instead of the stock gears.

That sucks man. Repairs are no fun, but when you get the first run of a new model it's bound to happen. I've taken my car to the dealer for so many things it's not even funny. Nothing serious thank god, but it's bound to happen eventually.

I'm in Indy also, and yes, the roads needs some major help!! Even in my truck, I feel like I'm running the Baja 1000 or something to get in, out, over those dam holes.

Really, production has STOPPED? Funny, cars are still coming off the line. People here are getting VINS. Does your DEALER really know what they are doing?
