Anyone have an opinion on the Amsoil Gear Oil? Here's the one they recommend for the V6.

Uh...for the differential. Sort of thought that was obvious.

Yep, Sorry folks, I should have done a few pics on this one. The Diff is no different than the V8 one, but there is just enough difference in the Manual Tranny that pics would have helped me too.

All that aside, it can be a messy and smelly job, but one that is well within the scope of most of us to do.

The pics of the placement of the fill/drain bolts are in your owners manual. Also, learned some interesting stuff today when I went by autozone and the dealer. This is for the auto: The diff requires 0.9 qts of fluid that has to be of course as stated above, with no LS additive. The transmission on the other hand is a whole different story. For an overhaul of it requires 11.2 qts. Just a change of the filter and pan requires 6.7qts. Now, the fluid is even better, ours has to be Dexron VI approved - the standard Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF and Royal Purple Max ATF both state they are NOT for our cars! Says so right on the back of their bottles. So I don't know how this compares to you manual guys but us autos better watch what we are putting in our vehicles! I was in shock - I was checking out with the Mobil 1 and read the bottle - I was like STOP....let me go check something. Sure enough the Royal Purple was the same way ..... so be careful guys!
