what i want to know, why they didn,t run the kb on the camaro @ same hp as mustang...instead of turbo.. sorry turbo guys .i think with a kb sc , the camaro could of been better.. the mustang had to baby it out the hole and shift early to prevent wheel spin and still ate the camaro...match the 500 against a kb sc camaro @ 1000 hp with forged internals as ford did, and the camaro takes it..imo..

I'm sorry, Im no Mustang fan at all, but I have the damnedest utmost respect for THAT MUSTANG! That thing was absolutely amazing! It gets wheel-spin at 100mph lol! I personally thought they should have went with a super-charger of some sort on the Camaro too, the outcome would have been different. But still very very..close.

Yep Sweet rides, Both cars were built by Fastlane here in Houston....The camaro would have eaten up the Mustang but ran out of Turbo...still had more motor but the turbo was a bit too small for the motor... i believe that has since been corrected...that camaro is a true beast now!!!!

Not being a fanboy here, that Cobra on the show was just flat out awesome!!!.... it had a giant Kennybell SC producing that power!!!

That Camaro didn't have totally similar mods' the Shelby did though, did it? I thought it was still on mostly OEM suspension and brakes or something. Anyways, it was a pretty cool episode, but definately SWEET cars.

It is all relative.

The Camaro had a 7.0L motor so it had extensive motor work. I think they said the GT500 had cams, along with stronger rods/pistons I am sure.

For sure. I'm just thinking about the handling tests. That Camaro, was what, down about a hundred horse'? Regardless, it was entertaining and seemed fairly objective given the state of both cars.

The Camaro was down about 70 hp to the GT500. These cars were flat out violent beasts.
If you listen to the comments from the drivers on the cars, they were no doubt impressed.

I would have loved to see them battle a stock camaro and a stock shelby. Either way both cars were crazy.

That wouldn't be a great battle. . . They should however, put the blower kit from GMPP on a camaro and pit it against a gt500. The GT500 would win in the handling department for sure, but the camaro would then have quite a power advantage and it would be very interesting.

Put the blower on the LS3 or the blower on the LS7?

Because a blown LS7 wont even be fair for a GT500
