Ya got that right, Senőr Dragoneye. I'm prepared to have a joy-gasm just when I order my Beastie. Either way it's gonna rock hard. My buddy just drove a CTS-V a couple weeks ago and said it made his head spin just like in the EXORCIST.

I do hope they go forged, because I know I won't be able to keep my foot out of it, but if not, I'll just have to save my pennies & do it myself when the warranty runs out. I plan to drive this baby 'till I need one of those scooters at Wal-Mart to get around. (or until they outlaw gasoline)

I think you said it best, so far: "Either way it's gonna rock hard."

Is GM going to warranty the Z28 pushed to 675hp? Thats what ford does with the TVS upgrade on a GT500. Anyone here been driving performance cars long enough to remember what eaton used before the TVS series??? Thats right the old 3 lobe MP series. Very very inefficient blowers. Soooo it takes the LSA a new TVS designed blower to make 556hp. Bolt a TVS on a GT500 and you get 675hp. Think about it

All im going to say is it would be nice to increase the cars power to 750RWHP and not touch the bottom end or worry about it. In fact it might be the determining factor on if I get the car or not. If I have to put a short block in the Z28 to reach my power goals then I might as well keep my SS and save some money.

I'll give you the same answer that John D. Rockefeller gave when asked how much money is enough.

His answer was, "Just a little bit more."

The finished product is what will determine it for me, I'm really not a drag strip guy or a pro road racer, I am fairly docile. With that said I do want to be able to LOL @ a GT500 in my rearview with out much durress or effort. That's my goal. So if it's more cost effective to buy a used 2010 2SS/RS and do an LS9 engine swap or in the least a bottom end swap, add a SC and beef up my suspension, then that's what I'm going to do. I'm not paying 50K+- for a car that has to have a short block swap to maintain GT500 trouncing power, sorry. If this is the case upon Z28 release, I promise my 2SS/RS will be sicker for cheaper. Promise.

If the Z does not come with forged internals, I can only imagine the convo. between a Z owner and a GT500 owner....

GT500 owner: DUDE, What happend!?!?!?!?!

Z owner: I put headers, pulley, and had it dyno tuned and my pistons couldnt handle those simple bolt ons...

GT500 owner: That sucks! I have the same stuff done and still havce room to grow... What are you gonna do?

Z28 owner: I guess I have to put it back to stock and just drive around knowing I can atleast beat an SS and GT 5.0... :(

THAT is why I want forged guts from the factory! I love my Camaro and I am crazy about it but I want a Z28 BAD!!! But if Chevrolet ends up making it so the Z just barely edges out the 500, but is topped out because of the internals and the 500 still has plenty of room to grow, guess what I am going to buy.

When the current Camaro came out and with all of the set backs(pushing production back, full ABL, advertised accesories not produced, how they handled the R6P orders, ect...) that really turned me away from GM and told myself that the SS is my last GM. Ive stated before that I have always bought GM vehicles and have 5 in my driveway right now(08 and newer) that are all paid for and usually buy 2 or 3 a year, so I would consider myself brand loyal. But it is hard to over look what other companies are producing and the ability they have to take well to modification.

I am sure the LSA with the non forged stuff would be a great car and even if only 10% do modify it, havnt you heard about people with bad experiances tell 10 people and people with a good experiance tell 1 or 2? If that 10% has to tear down a motor, alot of people are going to hear about it and with the internet, the full story wont get heard and only the part that people are having to rebuild bottom ends because it couldnt handle a few bolt ons. That will turn alot of buyers off from the Z28 and explore other options.

If you ask me, Ford is doing somthing right with the Mustang and all the diffrent packages. The Mustang can cater to alot of diffrent people because it has several looks you can get from the factory. With the Camaro, its getting to the point that if you've seen one, you've seen them all other then wheels and stripes(although I love the way they look and it never gets old).

WOW....Did I really just give Ford props??? I NEVER thought I would do that!

But back on topic... Yes, forged internals!!!! If you are going to spend the money on a Z28, I dont think a few hundered more for a stronger motor(even if you dont need it) is better for GMs reputation for reliability. If people are able to throw 750hp at it and it be able to withstand it no problem, THAT would speak volumes for GM and probably sway people that are looking at Shelbys.

But then again, what do I know... I am just a consumer.
