Dealership education

Is it just me or does it feel like the sales people at these dealerships haven't the slightest clue about the camaro at all? Like when I was buying my car not a single dealership could tell me what was included in the rs package. More notable one dealership didn't know the car came in manual. Granted to make sure I was getting what I wanted I wa really drilling them on this stuff. Now I am dealing with service depts for a few warranty issues and these dealers haven't the slightest clue regarding any of the tsbs. Is there no workplace education at these dealerships or do they not car that people see them as money mongers now?

Dealerships have certain GM incentives on training, if they participate...long story.

Those that are GOOD in the business take advantage of the training. Those who are EXCELLENT go beyond that any way they can. The people (sponsors) here are an example of that!

Yea some salesman are complete idiots. A couple weeks ago my mom and I was driving by a Chevy dealer and they had a red SS she wanted to look at. The salesman tried to tell us that the Z28 is coming out this Thanksgiving with a twin turbo V6 and it's replacing the SS due to low sales because of its bad gas mileage. He also said the Convertible is being scrapped and is being replaced by T-Tops which is coming out in time for Christmas and that all this information came straight from the CEO himself.

ya I seem to be able to teach salesman somthing new every time i go on the lot. now i just have fun with them let them tell me a bunch of BS then make some remark about a feature the camaro has that they don't know yet. they try it and when it works they shut up real quick. for example in the auto burp the gas then floor it and it will down shift to fourth and hold, untill you let up. none of the sales people knnow that.

however I am friends with my local dealer, we went to high school together. so when i go in there He just out right asks "so what else can the camaro do"?

I have had the same problem at the last 4 or 5 dealerships that I have been to. They weren't all Cheverolet dealerships either. Thank goodness there is a forum such as C5 to help keep us informed on everything.

when i went down to order my car, i brought in paperwork and information that the salesman didn't know and had never seen. i let him photo copy it, and told him:

You can find all this on www.Chevrolet.com/Camaro...

duh?

Man I was lucky, knew my saleman from the old neighborhood and he STILL has his 69 camaro. The dealership was slow to pass on information and he knew about Camaro5 to keep updated, and turned me on to it. Got to find the saleperson who is a car freak!!!
