Exactly. Even a little sticker on the diff says so. As someone earlier stated, it's most likely a case of the IRS being a bit better balanced allowing for our two wheel burnouts.

With tire height, the gear deficit is negligible. In practice, things may prove differently, but on paper the v6 mustang is faster than the v6 camaro in every iteration. Having nearly identical power and a 300lb weight difference is the killer.

Their stock tire height is just over 27", ours is 28.7". I have 26" tires on mine. Does it mean they're running stock diameter? Why would it? I don't.

It's the fact we're 300 pounds heavier. I'm the one who pointed it out.

I've got plenty of friends with mustangs and a couple with Challengers. I'd talk crap to them for posting here, too. I still don't troll the mustang forums trying to pick crap apart and start stuff on a site dedicated to their car. You guys want to hug 'em and sing kumbaya that's your call.
I'm done with it.

Fastest reported trap for 5th gen ls3 m6 ~111-112. Fastest reported 1/4 mile 12.58 (12.43 @ 112 corrected) Been on the street a year and a half.
(I have been a member of ls1tech for 6 years and owned a 98Z for 3 years)

The 5th gen ls3 car is WITHOUT A DOUBT faster. A strong L99 is pretty much dead nuts with the quickest 4th gens.

I beat my buddies H/C 2000 z28 (built form parts off of my old 98) in a 40-130 race twice with the mods in my sig.
Isn't this an odd post? Being as you just said "anything is possible" on the street... You're kind of double talking now man. Facts are facts, an 03-04 Terminator should beat out a 5th Gen SS street or strip every time, with comparable drivers. Only a 200lb or so weight difference but a blown 4v vs an auto LS3 shouldn't result in consistent "beat downs" on either side...

Dont feel to bad if you lose. I have been reading about full weight 2011 Gt's running mid to high 11's with full bolt ons. I mean really how many of us can say that? The big reason they can do this as said before insnt all in the weight but also in the 60ft. The new GT just needs control arms, gears, and 15" drag radials or slicks to cut 1.6 or better 60' times. How many of us can also say that especially considering the price difference to do it. Parts and labor in gears for our cars is like 1k vs their car is like 300-$400. Not to mention our gear upgrades break for alot of people and then you have 1k worth of junk. To put 15" slicks and skinnies on our cars means a whole new pricey brake conversion.

You could litterly order a new GT auto for about 30k. Drive it straight home or to the local peformance shop. Bolt on the first round of bolt ons which consist of LT headers, CAI, Tune, gears, control arms, and 15" lightweight wheels and slicks and go rip off some mid 11's possibly being asked to leave the track because of the lack of a cage. It is truely disgusting and now I know a little of how the GT owners felt from the early ninetys to about today. If it was not for that FUGLY rear end I would seriously consider trading up. I just savour in the fact that in my model year mod for mod in my class of car I have the top dog and my only competition comes from other SS's.

That should be a fairly close race, given he is even lightly modded. I'd say the advantage goes to you. He's full of it in saying he'd beat you badly, if at all...

LOL relax man. Don't start crying. I'm just stating the facts. If you just want blind praise and ignoring reality, you should just read the chevrolet site all day. Saying a stock auto, base camaro v6 should beat the equivalent mustang on paper is just plain wrong. You said it yourself. Why is it such a bad thing for anyone else to speak truth?

I guess FUGLY is in the eye of the beholder.

I personally think the 05-09 tail's look dated and think the new 2010+ rears on the right color look bad ass like this one.

In essence the slowest Camaro is faster than the slowest Mustang.
