GM just needs to add a gear choice. '10 SS with gears is night and day comparison.

Shelby/Ford SVT produced an EPIC fail in 2010.

Too bad the '10 GT-500 STOCK would RAPE your precious '66 442 STOCK. If you haven't found a 'stang yet that it couldn't beat...you haven't been looking. Throw some sticky tires and decent driver in that '10 GT-500, and it's in the high 11 second range. Your stock '66 W-30... ~360 HP? ...and what; low-mid 14s? EPIC FAIL. Well, at least you don't see 'em every block.

"Mod for Mod" the rapage would continue, perhaps put a corn-cob bumper sticker on the 442 .

I raced one of these last summer in my Livernois built SS. I think for a moment, the stang driver thought I was "stock" but was quickly shown the reality of things

That's like saying the Grand National was an epic fail because it wouldn't hook up also. Or ALL muscle car's, because they had bias ply tires back in the 60's and couldn't hook up as well, do their tires make them an epic fail's also? How about a 2010 who's goodyears went bald and replaced with invo's or something G2's is that still an epic fail of a car?
Like I said EPIC fail on Shelby/SVT team. If you can design a car with that much power/potential yet ignore the most important part of a car (getting that power to the ground). In my opinion they designed the 2010 Shelby as a daily driver more than a performance car.

Well my 442 wouldn't be stock as I no longer can purchase stock wheels, everything else is. I could delete my muffler and CC as well as throw a High performance carb and pull around 450HP. With just DR's I run between 12.4-12.6. I used to run at Sacramento Racewayf or 4 years, I have raced everything from a 66 Cobra to a ZR-1.

and 45 years later Ford can't produce a production muscle car to compete with the 66 W-30 off the lot

And yes I realize the 5.0 is faster. I already said that earlier

What do you mustang guys want from us?

Do I need to sell my camaro, get baptized and then go buy a new 5.0 for you guys to be happy?
CORRECTION: The Camaro has hit 12.4 BONE STOCK (Someone PLEASE call me a liar!- lol)

That's an 05-09 Mustang.

How does it stack up against the 03-09 Camaros?

The mustang lover should get out and thank the camaro lover for getting Ford off their lilly arse to produce something that even resembles a pony car. Ford has been screwing their fan base for so long now they even quit using lube and no one even noticed.
I guess they could thank GM, but just as long as Camaro fans thank Ford for reinventing the market in 2005, inspiring them to get off their butts and give the fans what they wanted.... 4 years later..

As far as Ford "screwing" their fan base... Who ultimately ended production and gave their fanbase nothing.. In the end, at least Ford fans were gettin' some from 2003 to 2009.

I own a 5.0 and I can tell you that in a very short time, the aftermarket 4.6 parts will bottom out.. the 4.6 guys will be able to spend a 3rd of the money and get 3 times the results. It will not take a 4.6 more than $3k to exceed my stock 5.0 and i guarantee they didn't spend $36k for their GT.. the 4.6 aftermarket is huge and the prices will hit rock bottom very soon (remember the pushrod 5.0 aftermarket in 1995).
