Well .....thank GOD . We finally got this ABL thread off the top ten.!
The anger of no ABL news comes in waves...it may have died down for a bit but it'll be back.

Yeh...we are hearing more and more info along these lines....It dont look
to good fellas.:(.....I geuss all we can do is try and keep the faith cause
it dont look like were going to hear anything on-time to make changes.

If ABL is a no-go hopefully they will (when fixed) let us who have Pre-ordered
bring our cars to the dealership and install it. I would have NO problem
with this.

edrock,
Believe me they would not have gotten so many pre-orders so quickly if they stayed silenced. They very reason I ordered was because of all the info we had going in. If not I would have probably bought a Challenger by now...

Well, since DealerInfo's thread is closed, I guess we can all go back to complaining about ABL...

My dealer is going to hate me for bugging him for weekly status updates.

I am not surprised at all that the dealer info threads are closed. TO remove them did surprise me. I expected it would not take very long for some dealer who was pissed to complain to the General about info the dealers did not want customers to have in their hands.

Dealers do not want customers knowing more than they do!

If that is true, it really shows that *some* dealers are pathetic.

I am sorry to say in over 37 years of buying new cars I have only ever met one dealer out of maybe a hundred I had contact with that appreciated that I knew as much about his product as he did. The vast majority DO NOT (no matter what they say) like customers who have more info than they do.

I think some member from this site ran into a dealer with his copy of his order and the s**t hit the fan.

How big the clumps were is seen by how quickly every comment since has been closed.

mmm....no..I mean, yes - of course some are bound to be more pathetic...but not in this case. Dealers are only allowed to view the information we were unknowingly given for a reason...obviously, we aren't privvy to that reason -- but we should respect it. (however petty it may or may not be)

No, the real reason they've been closed is due to a couple things. Most annoying is the conspiracy that we are funded and operated by GM. It's just not true.

The other is the fact that we don't know and we don't want this to become breeding ground for hate and discontent. Once we know more about the situation then we'll be glad to give you all the details and let you hash it out. One thing you can be sure of, is GM doesn't always tell us why. So we are in the very tough situation of cleaning up the mess while our members are pissed off. Not how we like to spend our time here.

FWIW.

EDIT: Or, maybe those members that don't care and think this thread will look dumb are ordering 1LT's or 1SS's w/out ABL.

Some members want to voice opinions. It's fine until it gets to be a ritual to post 10 times about the subject per day. It seems as though there's a LOT of concerned members seeing as though there are UMPTEEN MILLION threads covering ABL. So, NO...I don't think it's that "dumb" of a topic.....period.

I don't think they're going to be this involved again. It would certainly be more helpful for those who are interested if they could be more forthcoming with any information, but I can see the point that they could loose customers if the information they release is not positive. It's a double-edged sword, but they pulled it out by giving us so much information.

WTF?! I love spending time reading through all those posts j/k It'd probably be pretty boring here, though, if we didn't have these debates and opinions on things like ABL. I thought there was a lot of emotion about Z28, but I think the ABL has it beat out!

I'm hoping it will make production though. As much as they've left ABL out there for us to drool over, I really hope they can find a way to follow through for us.

The preordering system really forced our hands. I think that's the problem... in effect forcing people to preorder (if you don't you'll be waiting a long time) their car without all the information on the table. If they didn't have the preorders out, we would have no room for complaint.

I'm not sure if this is true, but I was told by a dealer that this is the first time GM has done a preoder like this, on a new car prior to SORP. maybe some of our regular dealers can verify this for me...

But it goes along with what you are saying.

^I like Camaro Conti...he got a lot of crap for posting the IDL video a while back but at least he was being honest with us about his opinion. And his opinions turned out to be correct.
