Then the 2012 models hit and it becomes a battle between the Caprice (police package only available for now) and police interceptor from Ford. I went to a police supplier convention which is very similar to an auto show and it was on display there. Really cool get up, I believe it was a 6.0L V8. The police interceptor (I think) is just a slightly beefed up taurus.

The charger was there as well, but it is just garbage. It is damn near impossible to see anything around the C pillar and has had numerous transmission issues with the our neighboring agency and FHP.

Nice, I wonder how the new Caprice will stack up against the Impala, options and size wise? My wife has an 09 Impala, and we'll probably be trading that in once we see what they do with the new Imps or the Caprice.

Upflying is right no pursuit for traffic charges. Not worth the liability or loss of life. Trust me that's how I pay for my SS. But, don't be shocked if there is a marked unit sitting in front of your house waiting for you. We got nothing but time. It ain't worth it fellas.

What part of pinellas do u live in where u can't do the speed limit or run? I live in south St. Pete and I do 80 down us 19 except like 4 to 6pm. Departments here can't even chase u that long because of all the deaths cause by fleeing to elude. But the still follow u.

They say the Caprice isn't going private and is staying with a LEO focus...I don't really believe that, but it also wouldn't surprise me... Focusing on fuel efficient vehicles seems to be GMs focus (and rightly so) which the Caprice will not be...

Absolutely not acceptable. And I encourage those of you who think you've got it down to keep trying to run away. The sooner they catch you, the sooner I can worry about one less irresponsible driver on the road jacking up my insurance rates, my taxes, and endangering my life.
