Cant tell if youre just trolling right now, anyone who knows anything about cars is familiar with power loss over time.

The results also speak for themselves when I put two cars on what looked like an 06-07 GT that had intake and a cat back.

And i have heard "looser is faster", mostly in terms of chicks hehe

im not trolling at all.

and you said "looked like and 06-07GT"...can you tell me exactly what the difference between a GT and V6 are?

and yes, looser is faster...a motor will make more power over time.

It was a V8, the sound is the difference. And not to mention before the 2011 V6 came out our cars I would put football fields on those old garbage ones.

Sure engines make more power when broken in but they eventually start to lose it as well, they dont just keep getting stronger like you are implying. Not to mention if you end up racing a older model GT it was most definitely not babied. It was probably beat on from time to time which will definitely contribute to more wear and tear on the engine.

So like I said before unless the car has been maintained extremely well a 2000 GT will be down on performance.

i hope youre talking about racing a V6 mustang and not a V8 with your football fields comment.

and yes, more wear and tear=faster...as things loosen up friction is reduced. less friction for pistons=faster

No kidding.

He even said it had an intake too. If it has an intake/tune, it's not uncommon for those cars to run low 13s. He either ran into a horrible driver, or a guy who didn't know they were racing.

those 05-10 V8s can run as quick as mid 13s, Camaro is low 14 in the best case scenario. He must have REALLY not been able to drive.......

Regardless of the break in, that Mustang GT will probably beat the V6 Camaro. It's got more powerband.

even if you lose, you win because you're not driving a 2000 mustang

Idk an auto V6 with just intake and exhaust ran a 13.7. The manuals are quicker as seen in many tests. Most of the V6s with good times on here have been autos, actually not that many manuals running at the track. We will see this spring when more manual cars get to the track. I really do think its possible for someone to drive the shit out of a bone stock V6 manual and run a 13.9 and better with an intake. Cant really say I'm wrong or right yet because we just dont know.

All I'm saying is that I raced two 05-10 V8s. Beat the first one off the tree and put 2.5 cars on him. He never started pulling on me but I didnt pull away.

The second (on a closed race course), we did two 40 mph rolls. The first one he pulled on me and put about a car on me, but I started catching up around 80 mph. Second roll we left at the same time but this time I actually shifted at red line, in the first race I shifted into 3rd at 6,500 rpms. In this race I shifted right at 7,000 and put a car on him. As we kept going I kept inching away.

So like I said, its a drivers race, as you can see I lost one and won one. He had at least and intake and axle back, not sure if it was a cat back.

I think the V6 manuals are a bit quicker than people think but unfortunately we will have to wait until spring so I can try and back that claim up.

I also think that from a dig it may have been different. So if you can OP do a roll and if you put on an intake you will even the playing field a bit more.

So what does that say about your car, which is slower than those cars?

You have a good chance against the auto if you can drive.

If he has a stick and can drive you lose for sure.

Unless the chip helped his trans tune etc.

To the stang guys...arent the autos in the 2000 GT's (99-04) really holding them back in stock form? From what I have seen they are high 14 second cars auto and stock. Havent checked into them since my old ls1 days...but this is what I remember...could be wrong. Just remembering the autos being decently slower compared to a well driven stick.
