Guys their not biased. 2 out of 3 car whatever of the year was chevy's. It's true the Boss will probably stomp the ZL1. That's no biased either. I'm usually nice on this site but don't deny it. Now the GT500 and ZL1.. That's a different story...

BOSS -- great engine, ordinary suspension, decent brakes, improved dif ZL1 -- great engine, advanced suspension technology with major improvements over the SS, very good brakes, improved tranny, improved dif, improved half-shafts I know both of these cars from the inside out. As Hot Rod said, through a blanket over them, they are an even match. For now we know what the BOSS is because it has been released. Only the insiders at GM KNOW what the ZL1 is. Arguing about which Ford is or will be better is a waste of time. At 500 RWHP the ZL1 is a loser? So at 600 RWHP it is the Holy Grail? |

I think you keep mistaking this site for a Ford site. Look at the banner on top.

Talkin about Camaro
Quote:
truck of the year, and the Volt if I remember correctly was car of the year. I meant to say biased towards the Camaro We have to understand the Camaro took an 8 year hiatus I am glad to see them back along with Dodge. I think they are doing very well in the second year of production. The ZL1 is a step in the right direction. I'll wait until they compare the 2 and I will buy that issue. |

I have been following this stuff for a long time. This what I know from all the articles.
ZL1 is going to have a ton of updated tunes/improvements with help from the corvette engineering team which I would say is pretty proven. The "lesser" camaros will eventually get some of the new updates to improve the car all around. The LS3 is getting a 20+ HP bump or so in 2012 according to rumors which is probably pretty easy to do. I assume that the c6 will get a bump as well. The car will not really have a lot of weight reduction until the next platform which will be alpha. So.... the camaros will get more refined, more power, better handling, and updated interior. The Mustang has been on the same platform for many years and have done some great refinements. The camaro is just starting to do them. There is only one way to find out how it will perform.... when it is on the streets. They will not fail. I have driven tons of cars and prefer corvettes but they are two different cars. I can buy a corvette but I want something a little more unique and special. Hope this car is it. I am pretty happy with the ZL1 and have committed to buy one as one of my friends own a dealership. Should be a pretty good upgrade from my 95 z28(summer car). Frankly I cannot wait!!! |

The magazines have a job to do:
1) Sell Magazines, easily accomplished with "controversial" articles, and easily accomplished with Ford vs. Chev or Mustang vs. Camaro pieces... 2) and perhaps most important, Sell Advertising that more readers read...and more readers read articles/copies that get them "fired up"...ergo, "Ford vs. Chev" or "Mustang vs. Camaro"...preferably with covers adorned with RED cars... The other issue (no pun intended) is the competitive "bar" keeps moving...the BOSS arrives, the ZL1 arrives, the ZL1 gets more power than the CTS-V, the GT 500 gets more power, the SS gets more power, the Alpha will be lighter than the Zeta...a neverending story, that changes day-by-day (engineering-wise) and month-by-month (magazine-wise). And the Manufacturers AND the magazines (regardless of title) DO work hand-in-hand to see that our interest is continually piqued! That, my friends, is called Public Relations... |
