Unfortunatly that is incorrect, because you are not traveling so you are getting the same as your car when it is turned off 0 MPG.

I get about 19 on the freeway, and about 15 in the city, and about 9 when I am on the gas. Love it all the same. It is only $3.90 for premium here, 9 miles for 3.90 is worth it.

I wouldn't think the 55 mph thing would have a huge impact.
Look at the front of the Camaro, it's built like a brick shithouse as fate as aerodynamics, speed takes more off the MPGs than you can imagine. I have never had a car where mpgs drop off as much as this one when speed increases.

If you are THAT concerned with gas mileage.... then hypermile. I remember reading an article about these nut jobs that drive around with the single goal of getting the best gas mileage. One of the tricks was to put the car in neutral whenever possible. Especially on declining hills. No A/C helps too. You can also get some cardboard and extend the tail of the car so its more of a teardrop shape.......

I got the FlowMasters installed last week and I ran one whole tank Loud and proud....Now Im trying to get my mileage up. Im up to 24 mpg. Instead of 21.2 or so on average. I drive hills 70% of the way while the other 30% is highway in bumper to bumper...

Its important to re-set the MPG readout occasionally. It gets flaky and stuck in low numbers.
Re-set my LS @ 65 mph with cruise on and got 30.8 the other day. After some stop and go and return home on the highway it reads 26.6 combined MPG.
Before re-setting it was stuck on 21.3

If you worry about great gas mileage, you bought the wrong car. Have fun with your baby and enjoy driving the coolest car ever....
