How are you liking the TCI line lock? How was the install? Curious about your switch setup? Any pictures you can post? |

I am anal about three things on my cars. Brakes, suspension and tires. My life depends on them. I run only SRF in my cars and that means we bleed the abs module to flush the fluid for fluid compatibility. Every time we go to the track, we do a full bleed with a scan tool. Some would say this is over kill. I say it is doing the job right. As discussed in this thread there are methods around a full scan tool bleed. That doesn't change my opinion that the best and safest method is a full bleed with a scan tool. Compared to my life, a scan tool bleed is cheap insurance.

So are you guys saying this has to be done to bleed the brakes on this car no matter what? Or only if you open the lines before the ABS block?

As others have said...do it right. There is always a possibility for something to go wrong. Take it in and have a full bleed done with a scan tool. Money well spent.

if you open the lines after the block you can bleed them conventionally and they will work fine. the biggest problem is between the master and the abs block, if the fluid was to totally empty or servicing a the abs pump or master cyl you need to use a scan tool to get it cleared out

What are the symptoms of air in the ABS? What's the worst that can happen if air is in there? Is this something that will manifest immediately or later at some random time?

a soft brake pedal, if you have air in the system you will feel the pedal go to the floor, if it stays up and when you let it sit it goes to the floor you have air

The air would work out the abs pump when engaged and into the calipers. The end result would be a soft pedal.
