Something interesting that I found between the 2 manuals, the 2010 tells you to EITHER use the pair tool (which you can purchase) or change the tire pressure. The 2011 says nothing about changing the pressure, and sounds like they want you to buy the tool. So at this point who knows? All I really know is I have done it the way the manual says and I haven't had a problem and I know mine are working now because I have inflated the tires and watched it change on the dic.

![]() OMFG...... I have been setting the wrong wheels in the wrong possitions all this time. THey are only right becasue the shop looked it up.BUT, I know for a fact that the sensors read a constant pressure and you can't change that. If there is 37 lbs. of pressure then your sensor will read that. |

Approx. a minute or so the DIC now reads 36 at all tires. Never read the manual so i just went with the mindset that i did it correctly.

![]() Have you noticed the pressure change at all? I would check and see if they all still read 36 and if they do, maybe deflate one a little bit to see if it changes. |

So I didn't have time to mess with it last night. Fired it up today in the garage and all tires showed 32 psi. About a 1/4 mile down the road and they changed: 33 in the fronts, 37 right rear, 35 left rear. My fill gauge said 36 on all, but again, the gauge is suspect. I will air it in the shop at work today (i know that gauge is accurate) and see if it fixes itself. If not, I will do the relearn procedure. Thanks to whom ever posted the steps!

I have a very accurate pressure gauge I used when I raced my STi. I used it last night to set my tires to 38 each. I have not driven the car yet this morning so I'm going to set them all to 36, then hit the "relearn" and drive to work and see what happens. Will post results tonight.
I am sure the DIC is incorrect now. It read 34 on three and 35 on one after I set them to 38 using my Longacre. |

Relearning the sensors should only be needed if you change one, or take the wheels/tires off and put different ones back on. as long as the same sensor stays on the same wheel at the same location on the car, you shouldn't have to relearn them. You may have to drive the car a bit after setting the pressures before the sensors display the new pressures tho. |

Seems like it would be easier, more sense, more practical, less of a headache to use a real mechanical tire pressure gage

Relearn is for changing tires from one position to another, not for sensing pressure change after inflating tires.
![]() The re-learn method that uses pressure change to trigger sensors doesn't work on newer 2011's. If it's not in your manual, then it doesn't work and you need the relearn tool. |

Yup...."relearn" is only for when you put a new tire on the wheel.Just put in pressure using your tire gauge. After you drive for a mile or two the DIC will read the new pressure. No need to hit the relearn when just adding air.
