Well after installing the anti-foulers and emmissions tune #4 I got a CEL for code P1153 and the last time I got the P1133 code. I am getting bummed and not sure were to go from here.
![]() DTC P1153 Circuit Description The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) activity. Within a 100 second test period, the PCM counts the number of times that the HO2S signal voltage crosses the rich-to-lean-to-rich thresholds. If the PCM determines that the HO2S did not switch enough times, DTC P1153 will be set. A lean to rich switch is determined when the HO2S voltage changes from less than 300 mV to more than 600 mV. A rich to lean switch is determined when the HO2S voltage changes from more than 600 mV to less than 300 mV.

Maybe Carma Performance in Nashville can take a look at the tune for you?

You need to find a good tuner with HP.

I agree.. The tuner I have now is great, but I think the SCT is limited and does not have the settings that are needed for this.

Go to either Vengence racing or MTI racing, both are in Atlanta GA. I know MTI uses EFI Live to tune cars, not sure what Vengence uses. Get a custom tune for your car and be done with it. Sell the hand held to someone who has just bolt on parts on their car.

I would buy a scanner that tells you of the readiness monitors are working. I bought an Actron after I failed the 2nd time and now I can test it prior to going back. Yours is probably like mine... The car purs and the tune feels great, but certain parameters can not be set using the SCT. Hopefully you will not have that problem though like I am. Good Luck!!

as said just sell your hand held device and buy hp tuners or go to someone with hp tuners,, you dont even have to loose your current tune,, just read it out with hp tuners then use your hand held device and program it back to stock,, then use hp tuners to write the file back to the computer,, then you have a hand held device that is no longer married to your ecm and can be sold to another person to use

What luck.. After installing another tune today I was out on a test drive and all of a sudden I could not shift out of first gear....I am thinking ok what could this be, but thank god it was only the top shifter bolt that backed out. I was able to reinstall it good enough to get home to reinstall it properly. After about 100 miles on this tune I have 4 of the seven monitors rest. I will being going back out later this evening to see if I can put another 100 or so miles on the vehicle. Hopefully this one will do it.

Any news on your CEL?? I've got the same DTC P1153 - I've got LT headers with a full exhaust and a CAI w/ a tune.... I was wondering if it wasn't the fault of the extenders we have to install for the O2's to reach the bungs on the new headers - going to try to see if there is any EMI in those lines since they're pretty bare I'll let you know how that goes, but I doubt it'll work... If not then I'm going to just have to x3 on just turning them to "No Reporting".

I was sent another tune, but I did not ask what was changed in the tune and no explanation was given with the revised tune. If this one does not work I will probably seek someone with HP or EFI Live to tune this out. From what I have been told that HP and EFI Live both have the capability to keep the 02's on and as you stated in your post the reporting can be turned off so it will not throw a code. I will keep everyone posted as to what it takes to fix the problem. Thanks for reading!

I drove the vehicle over 100 miles this evening and I finally have the Evap system showing in the "ready" state and that has not been showing this until now. I still have the catalyst and oxygen sensors to show in the "ready" state before I can retest. Man I hope this tune does it... It's been nerve racking driving on expired tags for over a month so I can't wait to get this fixed. If all monitors do not reset this week then i will be having a tune done with HP or EFI Live... I have to get this nailed within the next week or two at the most.
Here is what all monitors are showing now. Misfire Monitor – Ready Fuel System – Ready Comprehen Comp – Ready Catalyst – Not Ready EVAP System – Ready Oxygen Sensor – Not Ready HTD 02 Sensor – Ready Thanks again to all the support and feedback.

several people have told you how to fix this issue on both of your threads that you started about this problem
but if you insist on trying to keep driving the car till the monitor passes,, it probly wont ,,, but these are the conditions that need to be met for that code to test: • The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is greater than 60°C (140°F). • The intake air temperature (IAT) is warmer than -40°C (-40°F). • The ignition voltage is between 10-32 V. • The fuel level is greater than 10 percent. • The engine run time is greater than 160 s. • The engine speed is between 1,200-3,000 RPM. • The barometric (BARO) pressure is greater than 70 kPa. • The mass airflow (MAF) is between 20-55 g/s. • The fuel system is in Closed Loop. • The throttle position (TP) is greater than 5 percent. • The DTCs run once per drive cycle when the above conditions are met.

I have been following the advice, but I have also had tuners to tell me in PM's that I have to drive the vehicle for it to cycle per the outline below. I have been getting most the monitors to reset, but as soon as I get the CEL that is where I stop and once you reset the CEL you have to start all over again unless a tuner has tune yours differently. General Motors Driving Cycle A complete driving cycle should perform diagnostics on all systems. A complete driving cycle can be done in under fifteen minutes. To perform an OBDII Driving cycle do the following:
