That sounds about right as far as what I did while throwing my CEL, I just took the car out for a quick spin on the interstate lol.. So driving around with the P1153 doesn't have any adverse effects on anything other than not knowing you've throwing another CEL... I was told my Onstar that this code wouldn't be a problem as far as driving the car goes, but will it be a problem if I take it to the drag strip with the code there? I'm going to have a handheld scanner w/ me to insure that if it does throw another CEL, I'll know... Any input? The car runs and drives fine, no noticeable problems other than the more than often backfire...

I am not having any drivability issues and I am only driving it around due to trying to follow GM's outline on resetting the ready monitors. I would be a little concerned about the backfiring though as it could be a timing issue. Once I get through emissions then I will reinstall my performance tune and next year I will know to start the process a month or so before I am scheduled to go through emissions testing. As long as you are not having any drivablity issues or emissions testing due then I would not worry about the code you are getting while at the drag strip.

I think it's just learning the new tune still, it hasn't even been 100 miles - it has a nice backfire to it if you do a 6200+ shift on it, but other than that only at the downshifts, nothing new, just a bit louder Could you not pass emissions with the dtc codes set (P1153 / Emissions) to no reporting? or did you not do this?

It would pass if the tune was set that way. I am hoping this one will do the trick.. I plan on driving the vehicle more today to try and get all monitors reset. GM states that it could take up to 5 drive cycles to get all sensors back to their ready state. That's why I have been driving the vehicle a lot due to 5 different tunes for the emissions set-up... I am hoping this one does it so I can get my tags and be legal again.

OK.. I have driven another 100+ miles today and all except the 02 sensors and catalyst are in the ready state. If anyone know hows this can be achieved without driving (beside jack stands) then please let me know.

Thanks again to all those that have replied!!

Look.. No one asked you to post. If you do not have anything nice to say then go to another post. I hate smartasses that just want to think they now it all. Well I don't claim to know that.

i dont know it all,, but me and several other people have told you how to fix your car and you seem to think it will fix itself,, you have wasted more money in fuel than it would have cost you to find someone local with hp tuners and have it fixed

Believe me I wish this problem did not exist.I have been doing this after I was sent a new tune. I am now on tune 5 for the emissions. There is no reputable performance shop within 250 miles from me so it's no like I can just drive down the street to get one. I have been working with my tuner and taking suggestions but if it's the monitors are not reset by the end of the week then I have to plan some days off to get it done. I run a large department and I just can't take off and leave on a whelm. You are correct I have wasted a ton of money on fuel, but I was listening to the tuner that tuned my car and I was trying to get it done without spending any more money at this time since I just paid for the tune in March along with several other mods.

Since HPTuners has such a nice scanner and you have modded to the point of needing the tune, why not pick up a HPT for yourself. As long as your tune isn't locked you could download it, make the change(s), and upload it back to the ECM. I am so not pleased with myself for selling my HPT after buying the Camaro. I was so sure I would keep it stock forever after modding the heck out of my Impala.

I am pretty sure the tune is locked on this one. I have thought exactly about what you are saying with buying the HP system. I have priced it out and was advised that it runs about $750. I maybe even able to find one used for less than that.

I wound up buying HPT for 499.00 new...if you go that route, spend a lot of time reading up on the HPT forums, very helpful

Should be $499 for the standard and $649 for the pro version. They are a mfg that sets minimum pricing so pretty much the best you can hope for is free shipping. Search for used, but be sure to verify the model, age, and how many credits are available. They come with 8 credits new. You will need 2 credits to license your Camaro. If all credits have been used up you'd need to purchase more. As I recall it's $99 for two additional.

I am working with Ray to get this resolved and I will get it! I NEVER GIVE UP!

I can Do anything in SCT that anyone can do with HPtuners or EFI live, The Values are sometimes labeled different and the descriptions are sometimes different or inaccurate in any of these software , it is just a matter of Testing different settings.

I have all 3 software to compare the same tune files.

Ted.
