i was gonna go this route but the idea of buying 2 rims, and widening 2 and waiting weeks just wasnt worth it when i can get a new lighter and better looking set for 1500 :(

I widened them because I like the look of the stockers. Looks are subjective. I haven't seen any I really like in the sizes I'd want except for some that are crazy high $$$.

I do like the way those look, but I really wanted the two extra rims for the drag radials. I was able to do that going this route, and I actually spent a little less than what those cost.

Those wheels look fine to me just looking at pics of the wheels by themselves, but seeing them on the Camaro, I just don't care for them. But, like I said, appearance is personal preference. That's what makes yours different.

Checked these out online. I wonder if that's thick enough to keep the stock wheel from rubbing the stock wheel studs. If so, I bet my car would look good spacing the rears out a bit with the 9" wheels up front. If I had known about these sooner, I would have found a definate answer on fitment and possibly would have widened my wheels to 11" instead of 10.5".

Part number for the adapters is 90.4.15.027.2.

I went ahead and ordered the 20 mm Eibach spacer. That's about a 3/4-inch move outboard, which will put the center of the wheels back where they were before I had them widened. I'll probably take them off when I go to the track (I may not if i'm satisfied with the quality), but I like the idea of the wider track width for daily driving and aesthetics.

I'll let you know how they fit. If my calculations are correct, I may need to shorten the stock studs by a few millimeters, which is no big deal because that part of the stud is not threaded anyway.

As for the decision to widen to 10.5 inches instead of 11 inches, I'm still glad I went that route. If you look at those 315s in the back of your truck, that sidewall is just about right. I'm still running the 8-inch OEMs with 245 INVOs on the front , and the sidewall bulge (front vs. back) is fairly uniform. I'm not sure the 315s would look as good with a wider wheel, and this way I still have the option of removing the spacer when I run the drag radials.

Your point on the time factor is well taken. It was fairly cumbersome acquiring the extra wheels, taking them to be widened, swapping them out, etc. The upside was that I didn't incur any down time on the car while all that was going on.

As for the extra stockers, you do still have them; but they're not 10.5 inches wide, which was the whole point of this exercise. I can't run 315 drag radials on a 9-inch wheel.

The main deterrent for me was that time to mail and get them back...just way too long, i like to drive my car...i have others but this is my new toy.....i prefer stock simply because they fit so well overall...but the weld look i dont like...and i am worried about balancing too...but it must look sick to have 315 on a stock rim..let us see sum rear pics...i wanna admire

I was pleasantly surprised. After they were widened, it took less weight to balance them than when they came from the factory.

See post #127 on page 6 of this thread.

Here's how much weight it took to balance the first widened wheel:
