Dumb question of the night
Ok
does painting the tube on a Injen CAI affect its preformance in any way? I would like it to match the paint on the engine cover. Just wondering if the polished finish is designed to reflect heat.

It adds 25HP.. put some Type-R stickers on it for about 50 more HP.

you should be fine, if it affects it at all it would be so minimal that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference

It is already ceramic coated inside and out, so no it wont bother it.

You might have a hard time getting the paint to "stick".

None what so ever. Here is the paint I used to do all my painting projects so far. And a photo of my engine bay so far to date.

Rtcatman,
Would you mind explaining your painting process for the engine cover? (how you prepped, what coats you did in which order, etc.) I'm about to go for it and paint mine. |

I cleaned the cover very well then taped off the areas not to be painted. Then cleaned again.
Sprayed promoter then color, let dry then spray clear very wet.

Usually it's suggested to do several light coats rather than a heavy one but I'm sure you've heared that before. No issues with your application?
