fuse pull necessary?
Been reading many threads about the "fuse pull", and it got me to wondering.
If my SS somehow managed to go to the "low octane" setting, shouldn't it after some time of having high octane fuel revert back to the "high octane" setting on its own? Seems kinda silly that it would stay in the "low octane" setting indefinitely. |

The answer is yes it should. And no it doesn't.
Used to be you get low octane in a car that required high octane and it just ran like crap and needed to be drained or just ran out. Then, later you'd maybe have to have a dealer or shop 'Reset' the system. The system in our cars provides a safety to make it work just fine with low octane so there are no worries should you get bad gas or loan your car to Guido. Like the days of old and taking your car to the dealer or shop we still have to reset the car to the higher table AND we would still take the car to the dealer. OR, fuse pull. It didn't take us long to figure it out. At first we were wondering WTF was wrong with our cars accelerating so shitty. |

if you have a custom tune, do you still need to reset the fuel map from time to time?

If your tuner did it right, he would have copied the high fuel table over the low one. At least that's how we're told it's done. Nobody will really confirm but nobody has corrected us either.

so what octane does it want to revert at?
91 is the highest i can get unless i want to run 110 which is SKY HIGH at the pump. and on a side note is it safe if im out somewhere and had to pump 89? |
