I had that from a swipe and run while I was in the grocery store. They took off my bumper, sanded, repainted and clear coated. 460 out of pocket. Was done at a well regarded mainstream body shop, dealership quoted me at $1000 and a few other "sketchy-average looking" body shops quoted me at high 500's

Take it to a few shops and get estimates. I know you are on a budget, but its a camaro, worth the extra money to make sure its done right.

Okay so I got 3 quotes this afternoon. One from a dealer, two from other repair shops. All three were over $1000.00. Does this seem right?! I just can't fathom how this seemingly minor damage costs so much seeings how it's just paint.

its labor that gets you not just the paint. They charge like 60 to 100 an hour to mask it grind it prep it sand it and repaint it takes time. Your takeing about a 3 day job at least i need to get my wheels done soon long story ill post a thread about it there chargeing me 300 plus tax for it

Also to remove the side marker and take the front bumper off yeah its ALOT of work to be done right

yup got quoted over $1000 to fix a little 2 in scratch on my rear bumper. it is because they have to blend the paint so it looks even all over. other wise you might be able to tell that area has been repainted.
