Tinting Saturday (Windows/Tail Lights) ADVICE NEEDED - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey guys,

So i am going to get my windows tinted this saturday. I have been tossing and turning trying to figure out how dark i should go. It seems if i just go pure black then 20% is a good tint, it will still let me c at night but at the same time it will look nice. My one issue with the 20 percent, is the little back windows have their edges already factory tinted, does anyone find that it looks dumb, when the edges are black and then its lighter in the middle?

Question 2: My one friend did his windows 38% with a titantium tint, which from what I understand gives the car a slight reflective look during the day, but at night it looks extremely dark? Anyone have any experience?

Questoin 3: This place does a really good job tinting real tails. I saw a few BMW's that they did and it looks great, has anyone done this on their Camaro? Pictures?

35% is legal in IL don't know your state laws, but check them out before whatever you do.....

I tinted my tails they look awesome tinted...

As for tail-lights, I just remembered I had a set of vinyl overlays from my

2006 Acura TL. Its a vinyl that you install like tint, but they come off when you want.

I don't like the idea of permanant tint on tail-lights. I just made a pattern out of

cardboard ond made one. Here are a few pics.

I also cut a few for my reverse lights.

Did 30% on the rears and back, 40% on the driver and passenger.

I have 20% on my Ford F150 and it's hard to see at night.

It's all going to depend on the laws in your state. Here in NC, the legal limit is 35%. There is already some degree of factory tint on the windows. No tinting allowed on the windshield. Folks around here are getting pulled for their tinted/blacked out tail/breaklights (no fine if you remove prior to your court date) - but it's an expensive risk to take.. IMO

I have 20% on the sides and 5% on the back it is perfect for most, I can see perfect at night, but I am changing my sides to 5% because the 20% can be seen through, I wish I had went with 5% on the sides when I first had it done.
