I see cars.com in my sleep! I'm on there hours a day looking and looking...

The 3 you posted:

1. I went to buy it last week and it's a major POS. Someone smoked weed in it so the leather reeks. It's smacked front and rear with piss poor "repairs" and the original owner removed the mufflers.

2. This car is SOLD

3, That's some custom conversion that they want like $50K for

I appreciate you looking for me though.

get the SS
I opted for the V6 because I wanted the convertible and the 2SS/RS convertible was way more than I wanted to spend. So I opted for the 2LT/RS convertible.
If I was buying a coupe, I would have got the SS .
If you are looking for sheer power get the V8.If you are looking for a cruiser get the V6.

From reading your post, I don't think u would be happy with a V6. I tried to convince myself that a V6 has enough power (which it really does, but then again there is never enough power) but decided that I would not have been satisfied with the V6.

But the OP seems focused on power - therefore I say he should get the SS.

That's gold right there (#1)! Living the dream

I'd be very careful buying a used SS privately. You have to wonder (every time) "Why is someone selling this V8 2010/11 vehicle so soon?". Sure, there are good reasons, but I find more often than not there's an underlying negative motivation.

There is a lot more here to consider other than just a V6 vs V8 engine comparison.
Where I live there are lots of twisty mountain roads and for me it was a no-brainer, had to have the LS3 V8. It comes with the new FE4 sports suspension and Brembo brakes all the way around. The V6 set up is for highway cruising, not "spirited" driving.

From a person who thought out and pre-ordered the V-6 way back in November of 2008, get the V-8. I do regret not getting the SS and will be trading up in the spring.

My immediate family has probably owned 30 or so cars/trucks/Suvs etc over the years and we've always had V8's in them. All the Mustangs, Camaros, Vettes, trucks etc were all V8.

Now that I am in my 30's I am wanting a new Camaro pretty bad. I went and drove a 2SS today and loved it. I did not have time to drive the 6.

Last year I bought a 2WD Crew Cab GMC Sierra and HAD to have the 6.2L in it so I found one and bought it. It loves to drink gas but it's got the power when I need it.

I am now realizing that I rarely have a need for a truck (my father owns 2 newer GMC so I can borrow when needed) and never really had a need for the 6.2L either.

I am actually tempted to grab a 2LT Synergy but I'm worried, I will always hear that voice in my head saying "You should have got the V8" and it drives me nuts.

What to do, what to do...
Take it from one that went through that [itchy ] thing some time ago , once you get itchy , there is no turning back, there is no known cure for that , period , and we do not want that , do we ?

completely disagree... the V6 is great for some spirited driving!

I let a couple of instructors get behind the wheel and really push the car... both were impressed!

As for the OP... I am very much a V6 enthusiast... HOWEVER if you have ANY doubt on getting a V6, then you NEED to get the V8!!! It will simply HAUNT YOU!

Well.... I'm an owner of both, my wife has the 6 and I have the 8. I don't regret getting the 6 however if I could swing another SS payment I would trade it. I'm not gonna compare one to the other cause there is really no comparisons. I will say that the 6 Imo jumps outta the gate better than the 8.... now before I get flamed.... I have a manual v8 and hers is an automatic... so this could be just the difference in stomping it and rolling into it. I will say it seems the 6 is a lot harder and more costly to mod... as I have found the basic bolt ons to be expensive and not as many brands to choose from... so if you are looking this way I would say go SS. If you have no desire to mod and looking for an overall fun sporty car with good power... jump on the 6. I don't think you'll regret it unless you get the itch later on cause then it'll be a lot harder to swap. So I guess the best thing would be factor mpg, modding, and overall time of owning. Start by looking at mods for both... compare CAIs, headers, tunes, and that'll shed some light on how much that's gonna run ya later on.

Get the V8. I love my V6, don't get me wrong, but if money was no object I'd have the V8 too. You already have buyers remorse and you haven't even bought it yet. Get the SS.
