Difference in power between V6 and V8
Let me first start by saying that I'm looking for a 2SS Synergy Green coupe now and have been always kind of "keeping an eye out for one" but now I'm getting itchy.
My immediate family has probably owned 30 or so cars/trucks/Suvs etc over the years and we've always had V8's in them. All the Mustangs, Camaros, Vettes, trucks etc were all V8. Now that I am in my 30's I am wanting a new Camaro pretty bad. I went and drove a 2SS today and loved it. I did not have time to drive the 6. Last year I bought a 2WD Crew Cab GMC Sierra and HAD to have the 6.2L in it so I found one and bought it. It loves to drink gas but it's got the power when I need it. I am now realizing that I rarely have a need for a truck (my father owns 2 newer GMC so I can borrow when needed) and never really had a need for the 6.2L either. I am actually tempted to grab a 2LT Synergy but I'm worried, I will always hear that voice in my head saying "You should have got the V8" and it drives me nuts. What to do, what to do... |

Had my '11 v6 for 7 mths and while I loved it and it did have power...I traded up for a SS 6 weeks ago. I love it and no regrets. If u already have an itch for a v8, go ahead and get it now to avoid upgrading later.

As with the V8... I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Make sense?

Just look at how many people have traded up on this forum alone.
I'm one of them. Go with the SS and you won't have any regrets.

I drove the SS first, then the V6. Hard to compare. If I never drove the SS, I would have been happy with the sixer, but too late now...

IMO, they're two completely separate cars. The V6 is a blend of sportiness and economy--a "2 door sedan" almost. It's got decent power and handling, a polite on-road presence, and it gets good fuel economy.
The SS--make no mistake--that car is meant to haul ass. Balls out. The sound and feel are completely unlike anything that's come before it. Stunning. |
