It is possible to drive the SS well in snow. Just get good snow tires mounted on the stock wheels and get custom wheels for summer tires. I'm still running my Conti DWS tires on my custom wheels because we haven't had any snow to speak of yet this winter. Last year we had a lot of snow and the Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice handled it just fine. You don't always have to have the throttle wide open...

Oh, and my MBRP tips don't rattle in my GFX--but neither did the stock tips. Make sure the tips are forward enough to fit into the dished out portion of the bezel and you'll pick up at least another 1/4" of clearance.

The factory tips must be cut back so they fit inside and behind the concave reliefs inside the GFX bezels. The GFX tips are nothing more than a double walled tip that presses onto the existing tips to hide the rough cut. The rattling occurs when the factory tips were not cut back enough. When installed properly there is no contact between the bezels and tips......there is a min of a 1/4" clearance all around the tip.Everything needed (including the new GFX tips) comes with the GFX kit. The problem is that some dealers/ installers take short cuts and don't do it properly.

When cut/installed correctly they should look like this....

Same here, but it's a 2012, I may not have had it long enough for any problems to be apparent.

The only way you will have any issues is if it wasnt installed correctly to begin with. The first time mine was installed the dealer did not cut my factory tips short enough. After talking with the guy who installed it, it was apparent that he had no interest in removing the bumper and doing it again. I found another dealer who had installed quite a few GFX kits and they removed the bumper and cut another 1/2" off the tips and i have not had any problems since.

Well, you've had the Camaro experience, and if there is this overwhelming uncertainty, go with the Ford Exploder, I mean Explorer. You can always ask the hubby to take it out on the Kilpatrick and see how the Exploder, I mean Explorer takes that exit ramp if you want to go back to the Camaro life. Just make sure he's properly outfitted with crash protection gear before you send him on the mission....
