Nothing ignorant has been said to me yet but I have had some, hey nice car comments. Yesterday was my first REAL compliment. I was at a drive thru and the guy at the window kept on and on about how much he loved it. It was kind of nice to hear that someone appreciates what you worked hard for.

The front end of the new Camaro is too flat. Not sleak and streamlined like the original. The doofus obviously never saw an original.

Second one: All V8s are faster than your V6, no matter what year. This one was somebody telling me that another kid at my school could beat me because it had a V8... a V8 made in 1981. However, the car he was talking about was a restored 1981 Z28 so I have some respect for the other kid that owns the car. I think nothing of the kid that knows nothing about cars. I may be wrong, so please correct me if so, but I'm pretty sure the 1981 Z28 had 165 BHP @ 4000 RPM.
Fact one torque wins races HP keeps you in one. Next you cant replace cubic inches V6,V8 or V12. Also to say all V8's are faster than a V6 is quite a stupid statement. I wont go into details for that as we could be here all day. If the Z28 is a 1981 then it either has a LG4 305CI 165hp @ 4,000 rpm and 245 lb-ft @ 2,400 rpm or LM1 350CI 175hp @ 4,000 rpm and 275 lb-ft @ 2,400 these are stock numbers. I could not find a stock 1/4 time though for 1983 Z28 H.O. 0-60 was 6.7 and 1/4 15.0. I think the results were conducted with a professional driver. So the race if it happened you have a possibility of winning. Although I would not talk to a guy who makes a blanket statement like any of X could beat X. Be careful and never street race as someone can get hurt.

URL: http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro80 btw 1980 and 81 were almost the same cars look at spec's.

Found more information 1981 0-60 8.5, 1/4 mile 16.09 to 16.4 so if this person kept it stock it could be a bad day for them at the track.

Sorry for the off topic reply.

No I only got a Camaro

Engine size aside I would rather have a Camaro than a Camry any day.

Was recently asked if its one of those Chrysler cars. I replied you mean the challenger? And the guy responded "ya that one, I walked through a Chrysler plant before there nice cars". I just smiled and politely answered no its not a Chrysler, its a Chevy Camaro. The then guy then replied oh ya so how many cylinders does it have, 4? I then popped the hood and showed him its a V8.

Then the other day I was driving out of a parking lot coincidentally next to a Tim Horton's and heard some guy say to his friends "look hes showing off now". I just started laughing and continued on my merry way. I mean I was pulling out of a parking spot how else would they have liked me to do this, push it .

The best comment so far, a little girl walked by with her grandmother while I was washing the car and she says "look orange car", I was so happy to hear this little girl get the color right especially when there are soo many who insist its red.

"Uncle, I thought it was a Ferrari!"
- My 10-year old nephew, whose father is a former Ferrari owner, upon seeing a Camaro in the flesh for the first time.

Got him a couple of videogames after that one. LOL.

Thanks for the info dude! Said exactly what i was trying to say but I am not that savvy with the older gens. I can't stand it when people umbrella term things. The guy talking didn't even own the car, he drives a yaris. The guy that owns it is my friend. He and his dad restored the car, and it is a 305.
And I would never race, I have a brain. Plus its more fun to watch people make fools of themselves on their own.

I've gotten the "oh, thats one of the new chargers" comments a few times. but I primarily get "why are you making changes to a perfectly new car?" everytime I mod it.

My favorite though...

I was coming home one night after dropping my gf off from a date. I pull up to a light next to a truck with a couple in the front and a couple in the back. They looked like they were between 21-25, all dressed like they were coming home from a club... and so the girls scream and go "We LOVE YOUR CAR! CAN WE GET A PICTURE WITH IT?! IS IT FAST?!" So they get out, yell at the guy not driving hop out, and take the picture.

The guy taking the picture goes "uhh yeah, bro..nice ride"

Light turns green, I did a nice little burn out and took off.

I almost forgot about this one... the first "compliment" I ever got.

The day I was going to drive off the lot in my new vert, I sent my girl photos of it. Mind you when we last spoke I was leaning toward getting a white Challenger. I sent her a photo of my vert before I drove off, with the top down. It's the one you see in my sig.

She texted back:
"Please tell any and all girls who compliment your car that you're taken."

most ignorant was from my step dad:
"It's a nice car, but its not a mustang..."
CLEARLY it's not a poo-stain

Most interesting was an old lady saying
"I like the color, I don't like chevy, but I like the color, the car is cool but I like the color... enjoy that color son"
I have jewel red.

Yesterday, a little boy rode up on his bike and said "sho' do like that Challengeh, ma'am." It was kinda cute and I didn't want to correct him. He wouldn't have cared anyway. LOL.
