Haha buddy well compared to my best friend with the cali. Special...i CAN sleep better at night. It happened to him so i know from first hand experience that the issues are true

The issues may just be random occurences but i personally have yet to see anything similar on the 5th gens, and that it happened to a friend I KNOW and to others HE KNOWS, along with other issues that have been discussed on the internet, i just wanted to give my opinion. Aren't we all entitled to one?

Really? Nothing? You must have missed the oil pump seizure TSB along with a number of failures.....or maybe you missed the grinding M6 cars...or the clutch pedals that go to the floor....????

Yeah.....these Camaros are perfect.

Well,

Test drove a 5.0 and looked at a few... Not all that impressed. Much quicker off the line, but I honestly feel that stock for stock, the LS3 will pull the 5.0 from a roll. Interior seemed very cheap and the seating position felt odd, didn't really feel like I was sitting down in the car and tight in the seat like I do my SS. Instead, it felt like I was just sitting on a chair, and oddly uncomfortable. Still prefer the styling of the SS too.

All of that being said, the 5.0, mod for mod obviously shines at the track, but this is a DD for me also, so the SS wins in every other category. The mod bug has got me now and my goal is to just have a fun bolt-on DD and get into the high 7's(1/8)... Starting with 18" DR's.

its a drivers race all day long no matter what. u can take 2 camaro of the same everything and they will run different. so u can take a bad running ss and a good running gt and gt will win same driver . u can take a good running ss and bad gt and ss will win. they are close enuff that it really is all in the drivers hands. Now doing mods the gt gets better with lesser boltons but after the c.a.i and tune the ss starts coming back headers help the ss more cam favor the ss, gears help the ss more. so its all in what u want. I like both cars i got a camaro cause im a chevy guy. Which im sure thats why most of u got ur ss and the ford guys got the gt or u just got a deal u couldnt pass up

I know this for a fact. My friend has always been able to beat out my 11 2SS with his 11 GT/CS and his car runs naturally too lean for its own mechanics. He lost cylinder number 8, as many other Mustang drivers have posted, and they replaced the entire half of his engine under warranty. The knock timing is bad, live axle, etc. are all points against the car.

The Mustang was always one of my favorite cars, but Ford's dropping the ball on their construction of their "masterpiece" turns me off to the brand. So go ahead, continue running better quarter miles...cause I would rather stick with the car that I can give to my son one day instead of junking, even if it can't beat a 5.0 Mustang.
LOL is this guy for real?

Define issues. I'm convinced many of the so called issues were driver created and not a problem with the transmission itself. That's not to say there aren't legit problems out there, but I don't think they're as common as some disaffected owners would have you believe.
What convinces you they are driver created and not a problem?

Gears will take car of that.

I can't believe this thread is still going on. Stock for stock, I still say it's a driver's race, but sure the 'stang has a weight advantage. For street driving, they're both fast cars. I'd rather have the one that looks better, and I'd rather have 6.2 liters instead of just 5

you must have driven a base model car, otherwise, the interior quality is about the same between the two cars.

also, unless you wound that Mustang up to redline on your test drive, you didn't actually feel the power of the 5.0. just tooling around town and driving easy, you'd never know the power that any of these modern muscle cars have at the push of a peddle.
