First you sand the old paint with 400 grit wet sand paper, and work your way up to 2000 grit , its work but it can be done, then apply your color to make it yours.

Correct. The stock panels are painted on the back side.

Did you to coat the panel with a adhesion promoter first before paint? Just wondering, I'm am looking to do a test panel like this in IBM.
