One more lesson: when I go shopping for a new car, I don't tell the salesman any circumstances like a pending private sale.

All the salesman knows is that I'm gonna cut a check after the price is agreed on.

In the great Commonwealth and State of Virginia, a "verbal" agreement is as binding as a written agreement. Give some serious consideration to buying your new SS from another dealer because "money talks and bullshit walks" and make sure to let 'em know that.

BTW, you can rate that dealer at http://www.dealerrater.com Your experience and opinion counts!

Survey, Shmurvey...They got 3K extra out of you, so don't think they'll lose any sleep over a bad survey...They can act like a bad one will hurt them, and maybe you think somehow you're getting even, but they still have 3k of your money that they shouldn't...

Why on earth did you buy the car from them after that? I had a similar incdient with my car, I eneded up driving 3 hours from West Palm Beach, FL to Tampa, FL to get the deal I wanted. The drive is worth the savings you could have gotten.

Good luck with GM customer service.

you'd be suprised at how much they care.... i'd rather lose $3000 on a deal and cut my loses then get bad survey's. you clearly dont know how much survey's mean to dealerships.

Well, they didn't seem too concerned about the survey until after they got the extra 3K out of the OP....Maybe they're more concerned about a survey than keeping a deal with a customer. If he would have gotten the deal he was supposed to, the survey wouldn't be an issue...I doubt a bad one from the op will get him his 3K back...

Okay, so basically i feel like i got screwed by my dealer when i was buying my 2SS.

What happened was i owned a 2011 v6 but wanted to upgrade, but only wanted to do it if the prices at least made a little sense. So I found a 3rd party buyer to buy my v6. Anyways, the day before i sold it i went into the dealer, told them my situation, and said i was only going to sell my v6 the next day if the price was right on the 2013 2SS.

So we came to an agreement on 38k out the door on the new whip. They shook my hand and said it was a done deal (two sales men witnessed it and both shook my hand. No confusion. I even reiterated before i left, after the hand shake, that if i sold the v6 the next day i would for sure get the v8 the next day for 38k out the door, no questions asked. Again, they both agreed and said it was a done deal)

So the next day i sold my v6 and my wife dropped me off at the dealership to buy the new v8.

At that point they said they was no way i could realistically get that price, that the two sales men and made a mistake, that i should've gotten what they had agreed to in writing, that it was my fault that i didn't get it in writing, and that i had to pay just under $41,000 for the car. I'VE NEVER FELT SO CHEATED IN MY LIFE. What they did was so unethical, wrong, and insanely bad business. I was so upset. I am buying a truck in the next few months and i wanted a Chevy, but now i don't just because of this. I was PISSED. LIVID!! Argued for over an hour, but i was without a car now since i had already sold my v6 and didn't have a choice if i wanted the v8. I've really never experienced anything so wrong in my life. And i'm a young guy. I've already bought two chevys and will be buying many, many, many more cars in my life.

So now the question. After i bought the car, they bribed me with free oil changes, and a few other free things if i would give them a good review on GM's survey which will be coming in the mail. They told me the good review was CRITICAL to them, and that they would rather not sell a car, then sell a car and get a bad review. I don't really know how greatly a bad review impacts their business, but it sounds like it is a huge deal to them.

A week later they even had another guy call me and said he'd almost give me whatever i want if i put completely satisfied on question 10 and 14 (i believe).

Again, i'm PISSED at the dealership and want to give them the worst review i can for screwing me out of 3k. Should i say screw it, what is done is done, and take the free stuff??? Or make myself feel better and give them the horrible review that they deserve??

If i tell GM the truth will they try to make it up to me in anyway?? Or by giving the dealership a bad review only make me feel better, hopefully get them in trouble, and i'll loose out on some free oil changes and the other free stuff the guy told me he would give me???

Thanks for you input. Sorry for the long read.
Should have gotten it in writing.

You signed the new paperwork. It's a done deal. Like it or not.

Just file a bad survey.

GM will not care and say you signed the new paperwork so you accepted the new price.

In short, you are S.O.L. unfortunately.

Caveat emptor

Well, just left the dealer. All and all, they cut me a check for another 441 dollars, gave me 10 free movie passes, tons of oil changes, free sodas and popcorn at the movies, free ski passes at Park City Mnt Resort, and free Jazz tickets. I'm happy now

I can am not defending dealer in any way shape or form...BUT...I can't relate to this at all either. Brandon has offered to elevate the issue to Customer Service...why not do it? If all you are looking for is "free stuff" then you still have a ways to go...that stuff isn't free...you paid $3000.00 for it. In no way do I think GM will give you $3000.00 back but they MAY do something. The surveys do matter and bad ones hit everyone in the dealership in the wallet. Why, when this started, didn't you go to another dealership? If they start out bad chances are it will get worse from there. If you financed the car that $3000.00 is really $5998.80 at 0% for 60 mothhs....that is reality. Thankfully, I do business with a dealer that exudes integrity and can't do enough for me. They are out there.

$3,000 and that stuff made you happy???

I bet you could have bought all of that and had a choice, for a lot less than 3K.

But if you are happy, so be it.

Best wishes.

If you are happy with what they gave you then that is all that matters
