Fact: cold air intakes improve throttle response, clean up the engine bay, and are a supporting mod/building block mod. Once you have LTs or forced induction their gains are exponential. I guess my other problem is people focus on them so much when that is their only mod or their main mod. That's just silly!

CAI and scoop! should tune but do not have too. When you add air you add fuel requirements the OEM is only going to add so much. Tune will give you the best results. buy the tuner and parts and all the tunes a free from Ted @ Jannety. Did mine with a set of Dyatech LT's, WOW! Ted's great.

Happy with my choice ... CAI and ADM Race scoop. Apart from the proven performance gains as per Ted's comparison, I get as many comments about the air box as I do my polished whipple.

These "Best Intake" threads pop up every week.
So I guess I'll play the game. For a 2010 - 2011 Camaro SS, I'd go with Vararam. You can't beat the simple design of the Vararm. It might not be the most beautiful intake, but it works really well. ![]()

i have the halltech...it performed the same as the CAI at the top of the list and was significantly cheaper. doesn't look as sleek, but i couldn't care less about that.
only issue i've had is that the rubber trim that sits between the plastic housing and the hood had lousy adhesive that eventually came loose. i just used some plastic epoxy and reattached in about 10 minutes though. so far so good. |

Does anyone knows if the vararam intake works with the supercharger?

I know there are other brands that supposedly produce a few more added hp for alot more $$ but IMHO the K&N Series 69 Typhoon is by far the best bang for the buck and they look great. I paid $175 shipped brand new for mine. Excellent butt dyno results and no tune needed and no CEL's thrown. To help hold down the intake temps I bought/installed some self-adhering insulation from JEGS and lined the inside of the air box.
