my L99 dyno'd like 323 or something on a mustang dyno... with 120 miles. I think thats correct for the car.

as for at the track, I agree basically just stab the throttle since they don't spin, that gives the most instant power and momemtum with stock stalls... with a high stall you need to hold it a bit higher.. and just test.. 1200-1500 etc.. now with my stall.. I stab it, the tires just BURN...

My Vig 2800 converter will flash to 3100 on a hard launch if I just stab the throttle. If I load the converter by giving it some gas while holding the brake, it will only rev to 2800 (as designed).

I've tried launching both ways and have learned that my GTO gets a better 60 foot time by just hitting it and letting the stall flash high (when running drag radials - otherwise the tires spin too much).

The flash is due to the time it takes to build hydrolic pressure in the converter and only lasts for a second or two until the pressure peaks, bringing the stall back down to designed load.

At this moment I am very dissappointed in mine. Got beat by a good 3 car lenghts buy a Mustang GT from the stop light. The girl was even spinning her tires and pulling away from me.

After I got by a car I pulled into the right lane and he went for it and so did I, my Camaro pulled him over 200 feet between 70 and about 135. Then we came to the only stop light on this highway and we both gave the thumbs up. I decided to use the launch mode (big mistake). The Mustang jumped me about 3 cars in the first 50 feet or so. I thought I was beaten badly, then when I hit 2nd gear things changed very quickly. By the time I was ready to hit 3rd gear I was already passed him. Then by 4th I was a least 4 or 5 cars ahead. We stopped and spoke for a while and he had Ford racing x-pipe and ford racing mufflers and a cold air intake. He was a nice guy and even thanked me for the A$$ kicking. (thats is how he put it) The worst part was that there was a car load of his frends in the car we had passed earlier that saw the whole thing. If you get beat by a close to stock Mustang GT I can tell you that you have a very big problem that is for sure.

Hey

L99 guys.

Yes, Drive does not feel powerful at times because the factory wanted to make the car more fuel efficient by changing the shift points, starting in 2nd, and such. For the true 400 hp experience, drop it down to M (Sport Mode). The car comes ALIVE when you do this. The shifting is so firm too which is nice. Well out to go drive my IOM 2SS/RS now.

Oh, and the premiere of Transformers 2 was amazing last night

Just a thought here, but there's a chance that Mustang was modified. That's not to say I wouldn't be upset too, but I know a lot of folks (girls too) that mod their Mustangs. I don't think a street incident should be your measure of the car's performance. If I were you, I'd take it to a track and get some real numbers, and have it dyno'ed to see what the motor is putting out. Then you'll have some facts to back up (or refute) your suspicion.
