Hmmmmmm........ Hard to say. In this case they might not like that you have lowered it. Don't tell them, maybe they won't notice. Sounds crazy but you never know. LOL

If you see page 16 in your Chevrolet Warranty Manual for 2010, it states:

Original Equipment Alterations

This warranty does not cover any damage or failure resulting from modification or alteration to the vehicle’s original equipment as manufactured or assembled by General Motors. Examples of the types of alterations that would not be covered include cutting, welding, or disconnecting of the vehicle’s original equipment parts and components.

Hey look. It's Captain Obvious again.

So answer me this Customer Service........

If what you just posted is true then a supercharged, cammed car with full suspension should still have the thrust washer TSB in this thread covered right?

The washers were LEFT OFF THE CAR ON THE ASSEMBLY LINE!!!

This wasn't as a result of aftermarket equipment or the removal of the OE. The original equipment WAS NEVER PUT ON in the first place!!!

The TSB says that and GM won't cover it.

So stop posting this shit already. You are ZERO help here.

I hear a similar noise after coming to a stop or putting her in drive. This all of a sudden started after my half shafts were replaced at the dealer.

They may have left the thrust washer off or you never had them and the new shafts had a different sudden effect that makes the noise happen.

SS Mike,

I am a new owner of a 2014 ZL1 Convertible and the day I drove my car off the lot I could hear a sound which I described much like you did. It sounded like a light rattle coming from the rear end upon acceleration (both slow and fast acceleration) which increased in frequency as the car gained speed; a rattle at about 3:1 to the wheel speed, like a playing card in the spokes of a bike, that, up to cruising speed, rattled so quickly that it almost blended into one continual sound until the point where I hit cruising speed, let off the accelerator, and the sound disappeared. Tap on the gas again and the sound is right back again.

The video on this thread sounds more like a one time clunk, whereas mine (and I think yours) sounded more like a continual rattle. The other way I can describe it is like how the rattle of a rattlesnake or a cicada starts back-and-forth slow and increases into a continual line of sound as the car accelerates.

I just wanted to know if you figured out what it was and how you fixed it. My dealer can hear it but doesn't seem to know where to start (he thought it might be the license plate bracket, but it is not).

My car is brand new (100 kilometers on it) and due to the cold I will not be bringing it back in until spring. I would appreciate any help you can give me since you're the only one that I could find that describes the exact same thing.

mine just started clicking at 80k miles.

its s 2011, does it have the washers or should I be telling them to inspect the axles/differential. my car is also stuttering on 800rpm-1200 rpm light accelloration high gear its almost sounds like its starved for fuel and it hops until it gets passed those rpms. its tempermental at best it happens every drive now getting very concern as the motor was just rebuilt lol

I think I wil go to ford next time lol.

Well your clicking and the rebuild are two different issues if it's the same clicking.

Go to a Chevy dealer and ask them about your thrust washers. They should be able to tell you.

You could go Ford if you want. I know a bunch of ladies who just like driving slow.

pq, is it possible that the axle is skipping due to the thrust washers? maybe that's why I am getting that stuttering/slipping feeling briefly on really low rpm and easy accellerations.
