Not going to read this entire thread because I've lived it. Speaking the truth on the Internet can get you sued. Doesn't matter if the judge ever makes a single ruling it can cost you thousands of dollars. Been 7 years since I've heard a peep but it's still an open case and applies when buying a house etc

Im not saying the OP is wrong or lying....I am just pointing out the other side...

You stated that "you would not buy or have a car serviced there ever". What if what the OP posted was not true? The dealers name has been branded and tarnished for no good reason and we dont even know what has really happend. In this day and age it is to easy to "slam" someone publicly. I cant blame any buisness for trying to protect their name.

Like I said I am in no way Implying that this is whats going on. I just dont see how anyone can pick sides without knowing the whole truth.

Yes, I work for a local dealer near them and I do not work in service. I know people in the sales department and I do know that the owners have lawyers associated with their dealership.

I guess my point is that unless we were all standing there and were listening to the conversation, we cannot assume either side is right or wrong. Actually, RJS's comments are the most civilized in this thread. I questioned and he came back honestly and without malice.

It is quite common here on Camaro5 to bash dealers at the drop of a hat and most will jump on that bandwagon to up their thread count.

I wasn't there either but I can just see the situation escalating from the "I know more about Camaro's than you do" conversation. This isn't news but most service manager's at most manufacturer's DON'T know everything about every car they sell.

Also, whatever the NYC area comment is about, I really take offense to that.
Are you serious?? You want him to take his car to get serviced at that dealer again?? LOL... If you had an argument in a arestaurant with the waiter and then the cook over them bringing you food you ordered but wasn't cooked properly yet they tell you it is perfectly fine.. After a heated argument, would you trust them to cook you another meal?? I don't think so.. I would not trust them with my car after being treated that way... Furthermore they escalated this issue by threatening the OP...That is simply wrong.. The dealer needs to come and apologize.. Not the other way around..

The ratio of dealers to customers here is obviously slanted one way.

Let's just say I get my back up when dealers get trashed by forum members without knowing both sides.

I'm a very active member of the Corvette Forum and this type of thing is moderated heavily so both sides have an opportunity to respond. Here, it just seems to be a "Bash the Dealer" free for all whenever someone has the slightest issue with any dealer.

I apologize to anyone I might have offended with any of my posts.

Well, when the "dealer" actually knows something about what the hell is going on, then bashing wouldn't be necessary, wouldn't you say? D&C Chevrolet screwed me on my tires for my Cobalt SS/SC and thus, they went out of business a year later. Karma man, karma. Makes the world go 'round!

This forum doesn't promote drinking and driving..
The general manager at the dealer needs to create an account and explain their behavior and apologize. Also explain the thug-like threat about slander. simple as that.

Reminds me of stories about my step-dad & his friends driving around town with huge signs saying "(so and so) screwed me over". They decided to fix the problem as soon as they stopped towing around the signs.

NO you didn't but by "Negative" do you mean like a "dirty bathroom" or "nasty smell". If that then yes you may find tiny negative things wrong that will not affect the dealership. And yes not everone has a 100% satisfaction rate.
Negative like "I'll never do business with them again because _____"

Quote:
But a post on this forum will affect the dealership in a way because there are alot of people from New York that will read this post and say " WOW that dealership is bla bla bla im not going there ever instead ill go to XYZ dealership and then that person will tell all his friends then his friends will tell all their friends and so on and so forth and no one will want to buy anything from that dealership.
Of course it will hurt them...they won't go bankrupt, but they lose a few potential customers. However, if that's what happened to the OP then he's protected by the law to speak the truth about how he was treated. Instead of threatening to sue people, they should just take care of their customers better.
