I dont mind all the shit and flack everyone's giving me. Like I said, they're all blabbering on about what i should have done and reading the manual etc etc, all the while not realizing what they said I should have done, I couldnt have done. Its all good. I have no problem or issues with any of the members or their comments.
So you complain about the battery being in the trunk, when the battery being in the trunk was your only saving grace? And now you're acting like we're in the wrong for giving you advice and a little bit of flak based on your complaint?

Everyone should invest in a good 2/10/boost charger to keep around the house. Just a $30 one from wal-Mart...anything.

Batteries will trick ya, top charging and all. You need to charge it on 2 amps for about 6-8 hours let it get a full saturation charge

Even when I lived in an apartment I kept a cheap Shumaker charger and a 50 foot extension cord in the closet.

I have 3 sets of Jumper cables, they multiply like rabbits for some reason I need to give some more away because I rarely use the things.

If someone asks me for a jump when I'm in my truck I'll help them out, the Camaro no way, and I don't carry cables.

Who is the genious who thought it was best to put the flippin battery in the flippin trunk and make an owner do all this flippin work to flippin jump the flippin car?!? WHO?????

Rant over.
They do it for weight distribution. It makes the car handle better . Be thankful its not tucked into the rear wheel well or was it the front like it use to be on the Dodge Intrepid .

I never said you guys were in the wrong. Only thing I said was all those who are saying there are ports in the front and read your manual, I said I couldn't use them as I had to to use the main battery. Not to mention for all those who say read your manual, how do you think I found the battery after realizing it wasnt under the hood when I installed my CAI?

Like I said, I honestly cant see why anyone who read the orginal post would even remotely think I was serious. How much more blatantly joking can I be?

Man you are full of all kinds of flipping excuses .

My BMW was an '04 with the battery in the trunk, same design back to '01 I believe. Actually is convenient back there as that's typical placement for a sub. Made wiring a bit easier.

What I thought was odd about the Camaro was that the battery is in a spot that looks like it was originally designed for a spare tire.

Were there no spare tires in any version of the Gen5 Camaro?

Mr Stacy,
Anyone with a V6 car could check the spare tire option on their order sheet.

The factory does not offer a spare tire kit for Camaros with Brembo brakes.

My v6 has a factory spare back there on top of/around the battery.

So...why was the battery in the trunk a problem? Didn't that genius idea help you in this case?

For the record...jump starts do not *need* to be from battery to battery. In fact, all the battery studs do is form a mechanical link to the vehicle's electrical system.

To jump a dead car, you just need to hook up another battery in parallel with the vehicle's power circuit to allow the dead vehicle to borrow power, without doubling the voltage. The studs that folks are pointing out to you go directly to the ground of the system (the body), and the hot terminal of the battery in the trunk via a cable. So it's exactly like attaching it to the battery in older cars.

Because it's available as an option for V6 cars, they don't have Brembo brakes.

You mean I don't have Brembo brakes on my v6?!

/s

I didn't dispute that previously supplied information, i simply added my .02 and mentioned that mine came with a spare. Thanks for the information, but my post wasn't in the form of a question.

Good day.

Good day.
I answered the dude's question, no back to regularly scheduled ribbing of the guy who doesn't know his battery is in the trunk.

Not sure where you are trying to go with this or why you quoted me. It's like you wanted me to know you had a spare tire in your trunk, I'm happy for you, really.

Well I quoted you because I was responding to your quoting of me and responding to me. Is that really lost on you?
