I once locked my car by habit while at a car wash in the dead of winter around 9pm at night. i was washing it in the quarter wash had the radio thumping when I got done i went to get in and realized i had locked it tight. I had to get a ride home which was about 10 miles away to get the extra key. all the while it was running with the radio blaring. holy crap that sucked. 20 years ago but i remember it well.

as far as the camaro, mine wont lock the doors until i put it into drive.

I love the copy/paste syndrome GM has when it comes to Vehicle Owner's Manuals:

Power Door Locks Select Power Door Locks and the following will be displayed:
• Unlocked Door Anti Lock Out
• Auto Door Unlock
• Delayed Door Lock
Unlocked Door Anti Lock Out
When on, this feature will keep the driver’s door from locking when the door is open. If off is selected, the Delayed Door Lock menu will be available.
Press the MENU / SELECT knob
when Auto Door Unlock is highlighted. Turn the knob to select On or Off. Press the knob to confirm and go back to the last menu

Auto Door Unlock
This allows selection of which of the doors will automatically unlock when the vehicle is shifted into P (Park) (automatic transmission) or when the key is removed from the ignition (manual transmission).
Press the MENU / SELECT knob
when Auto Door Unlock is highlighted. Turn the knob to select All Doors, Driver Door, or Off. Press the knob to confirm and go back to the last menu.
Delayed Door Lock
When on, this feature will delay the locking of the doors. If you want to
override the delay you can press the power door lock on the driver’s door.

Press the MENU / SELECT knob
when Delayed Door Lock ishighlighted. Turn the knob to select
On or Off. Press the knob to confirm and go back to the last menu.
Our cars only have one power door lock button, and it's underneath the radio...

I guess I'm missing something but when/if you're locked out of your car, you would have to "call OnStar" on a cel phone or something other than the OnStar phone in your car. What number should I put in my contact list for calling OnStar when I'm not in my car?
