EXACTLY. +1,000,000,000,000,000,000 You will never regret getting a car a little nicer than you think you need. You will always regret buying a car that isn't as nice as you think you need. If you simply can't afford a SS right now, then wait and save up. if your current car takes a crap on you, then get a lt if you aren't comfortable with the ss. You could get a 1ss and then modify it as you see fit. Go drive a v6 then drive a v8 and make your decision at that point. |

That's what I did too. Seeing how you're car is already smoking, who know's when it is going to crap out on you, and when it does you'll have to shell out money for repairs. The sooner you get rid of that liability the better!

Test drive them both and then decide, personally I would go with an SS either way though. I have only test driven a v6, and have yet to see the monster under the hood of the v8...gonna go do that next month for sure!

If you can find a bank that won't penalize you for paying your loan back early and you can lock in a fairly low rate on the loan, you may be able to get the SS anyway if you can afford a higher payment. Then in four months after you've saved up what you had intended to have, you could give your lender a nice big check all at once and eliminate most of your interest and maybe even some principal. If you can keep that up to a lesser extent you can keep advancing the date you'll be paid off on and save some money off what your original pay schedule said.
As for which car, it seems like this will be your DD but you're in Vegas so lots of snow isn't a concern, which gives a few points back to the SS, and although I drive an LT you can't beat the SS's exhaust note - and naturally, it's a beast on the road. On the other hand if you're like most people and are buying to have a fun car to drive without taking it to the track every weekend, the LS/LT will still suit you very well for excitement, while saving you money on your loan, gas, mpg, insurance, etc. without losing the road presence all Camaros have. Or you can wait, hope your current car doesn't crap out on you, and go with that SS when you can truly afford it. |

![]() Good point though - if you get the 6 and decide in a year or so you want the 8 you can trade up - trading down will only lose you more money... I test drove the 6 - it was all I could afford at the time and it is still an awesome car. I would have been more then happy with it (but considering I spent my ex-husbands $$ on my car it was better to get a fully loaded SS and watch him ) ![]() If you can afford an SS then I can't say don't - I my baby to death and love flooring her up a hill but don't get something too exepnsive where you can't enjoy your youth a little. You really don't want to work yourself to death paying it off

At 23 you don't need the SS. Being a young, male driver your insurance is high anyway, a brand new $30,000+ Camaro SS will cost a ton to insure. Go with the LT model, it still looks really nice and you won't have to suffer with those horrible LS black rims. You are young, you still have your whole life to upgrade to the SS when its more practical and financially sound.

The V6 is sick as the flu bra. I be loving mine. SS would be dope but would cost more up front and all the way along. Gotta decide what is important to you. The V6 has some giddyup though bro.

Go for the V-6, honestly the V-8 is a nice piece to have but again not necessary, your going to be saving gas, money, and on insurance. You still drive a camaro and have 300hp. and if you get the RS options your good. and parts are also cheaper!

GET THE V6. YOU CAN'T USE THE EXTRA POWER on the higway. I have a V6 2010. very happy with it. I also have a 500 hp imca open wheel modafied in the shop to drive on the track. The 5000.saved gave me money for a bigger engine fot the open wheel mod. Think what you can due with the extra money. The V6 has more power than a 92 Z28. Racer65pete

We all know that the V-6 gets better gas mileage, and it's a great vehicle. We also all know that you can get the V-6 for less money than the V-8. Here is where the real question is- what does your heart tell you to do? Sure, I could have gotten a V-6 with cloth interior, but I wanted a car like I had never had before. The 2SS was the only car for me. You might be different, the V-6 just might be the right car for you. It's all in what your heart tells you to do.
